Greb played with balls and he's not even a man yet. He is going to be the type the Leafs need in the future.

I wouldn't say this was a fleecing by the Flyers but it's pretty damned close. He is a utility player in the form of Kerfoot with a little more jam.

Laughton at 1.5 for this season and next is solid though. Pricy, but nowhere close to some of the other overpayments so far. Getting 2 picks back is nice too

Leafs have Laughton at 1.5M next season, which is a huge plus. He'll add stability to the 3rd line and give us a versatile physical forward. Treliving finally pulled something pretty interesting.

People that don't think he'll be a center here and do much better than Domi and Kampf are out to lunch. We'll see how he fits though.

Apparently a good PKer. Don't care about the 1st. That guy wouldn't be relevant for another 2 to 3 years after he is drafted. Probable late first too. By that point, whether we've won a cup or not, our window is going to be closing. Most likely starting a rebuild/retool at that point. We may have guys we can deal off for other firsts at that point, too. Cost of doing business. Grebs? Meh. Great character player, but hey...so was Danny Markov, and nobody really thinks about him as "a missed opportunity" anymore. Same deal.

The 4,6, picks back and 50% retention make it more palatable. I will miss Grebs. Is Laughton even good at faceoffs? I like his grit though and he is a bit of a playoff scorer from what I remember (but it's been a while for him). Maybe this is a motivator for him coming home and all. We needed a third line C so OK lets see what we have here..

The 2 picks are garbage IMHO. The Jets just got Tanev for a 2nd rounder FFS !!!!

Secondly. You watched Leafs Playoffs games this decade, saw how many times they couldnt score and lost they lost 2-1 or 1-0 in Game 7 and thought, hmm, they need more defence????

They need more offence. The defence has always been more than good in the playoffs minus that one Jake Gardener year.
