I know Eiserman’s value is that he’s a volume shooter but you’ve gotta pick your spots better sometimes. Can’t have 4 blocked like that.

What a goal from Nelson though
100%. He’s just letting it rip. If it isn’t there you don’t always have to shoot. Other than that he’s been really solid.

You are absolutely right. This is the reason he went so late in the first round. His shot selection has always been pretty poor. He rarely makes decisions with the puck other than to shoot it. I like Eiserman, but he’s more of a project than NYI fans might think.

How has Slukynsky looked?
Very good. Been smooth and calm. He’s been tested too

Yeah I think some people kind of misunderstand what he is. The way he’s talked about you’d think he’s a dynamo that isn’t very complete when the reality is the off puck game is actually quite good. It’s his inability to diversify offensively that concerns me

That has been our brand of hockey for a long time now, no matter how skilled the team is.

Also, it was clear their legs were gone mid-period. You can't possibly hope to have a tight game against the US by taking 5 penalties in a single period.

We've had some decent scoring chances though and Feldbergs has been OK too.

I feel like this US team is razor sharp offensively, particularly that top line, but they are prone to defensive lapses. We could have realistically scored 2 goals by now.

I'm impressed with Latvia's compete so shortly after an emotional overtime game less than 24 hours ago. Obviously USA looks good. I've never watch Hagens have a game that was not at least very good.

Awful coverage decisions on that goal--left Slinky out to dry on the breakaway and the ensuing rebound. USA getting sloppy looking for points.

I feel like at a certain point might have to just accept that Latvia is a lot better then anyone gave them any credit for. Could be a sneaky QF match up.
They can still finish anywhere from 2nd to 5th... two games with Germany and Finland will be must watch.
