The Latvian junior team has NEVER medalled. And Latvia medalled for the first time in history last year at the World Championships. This is their 3rd tournament win ever. Let them celebrate. It’s a bigger accomplishment than you will ever achieve in your life.

Why are you getting so offended?

C'mon, "most of the best players"? Yes, Sennecke and Misa look like omissions. Maybe one of the 2 top drafted D. But would not say they are the best players.

What is hilarious is that they possess the skill sets that have been glaringly absent on the team to date.

Its not about the names and the draft positions, but how there were obvious holes in the roster on paper that have shown up in the games as well.

Even the guys who are there aren’t being used to their full potential.

People can whine about Parekh or Yakemchuk or whoever, but for real —- how the hell is Michael Misa not on this team? Gavin Mckenna is 17 and he has 61 points in 30 games…. Michael Misa is 17 and has 61 points in 30 games… ON DEFENCE. And He has one of the best +/- in the league, and he’s 6’1, bigger than 2 of Canadas selected D-men…
Michael Misa is the truth, and the future, and the present.. how the hell is he not there?

Put Misa and McKenna together in Ot and they’ll get that goal.

They decided to get all cute and big brained by leaving some of the best talent at home.

I don't know anything really about the available juniors, but I do know that over the years, Canadian teams at all levels periodically decide "let's build a team that would do good in a 80 game schedule. That's solid make up".

In these short tournaments I'm a fan of bringing your 20 whatever most talented players and tell them that's exactly why you brought them.

aside from that, the Finland game should have been the warning - at least in my eyes. I saw a Canadian team that didn't do much until Finland picked up their game and then Canada pushed back. Not a good trait.

I felt from the start this team was missing killer instinct and goal scoring ability.
