Can we fire Dave Cameron mid tournament? Embarrassing for him going back to roster selection. Hilarious that all the casual armchair fans are being proven right

OK, I thought Latvia and Kazakhstan would be approximately the same leves this year but when I compare the first period of the SWE-KAZ game to this, there has been a brutal difference in literally everything. Latvia's players are skating well, they are physically strong, also tactically well prepared, maintain good layers in their own zone. It is quite possible they will run out of gas and just fall apart sometime during the 2nd period but this opening period was really cool from them.

There's 2 draftees and 6 draft prospects on the Latvian team vs. 0 on Team Kazakhstan.

Do read the Latvia thread. This team is basically Slovakia sans Dvorsky.

Canada needs to wake up regardless of Schaefer for now. We all know that Bonk needs to leave the power play right away but they could also use a forward on the wall who is a threat to score on a one timer. I don't even know who that would be. A more skilled/bigger player like Martone in front of the net too.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I thought the same thing Odog is saying right now.............they weren't the same after the Schaefer injury, and immediately so.

Well yeah, he was their best defenseman, possibly their best player. His involvement hid a lot of the early issues this team had, and now they have no one to really replace him. Molendyk is going to have to be told to think more offensively now with Mynio coming in.

Is 5 good in the OHL? Makes mind boggling bad decisions

Canadas coach loves that he has the “shooters mentality” but just puts it in shin pads
Sub ppg defensemen on a loaded London team. I don't think he is awful or anything but he should be a bottom pairing PK defensemen. He is being used in a role he is not suited for in anyway what so ever.

I know they have some good players, just wasn't expecting much from them this year mostly due to the high number of very young guys. A very pleasant surprise so far.

Guys will have to step up,like Molendyk.......................and everyone else.

Shake it off, play the rest of this game well and take it from there.
