The fact that he doesn't even play that role on his own junior club....and the PP QB is sitting on the bench just highlights how ridiculous the decision making is.

it just dawned on me why they have Bonk on the powerplay lol. They must want a RHD specifically, their options are Bonk, Gibson or Akey (who has barely played) so it more or less comes down to Gibson or Bonk.

Literally the only thing that would make sense. Dickinson and Molendyk are both clearly better options than Bonk who doesn't even PPQB in the OHL, but that doesn't matter if they're not even in contention for the position.

But man if only Canada had a couple RHD known for their offense waiting in the wings. If such a player(s) existed surely they would be an ideal #8...

On a good note.. Latvia has made 2 of their last 3 quarters here which is exceptional. They've been in and out of this tournament the last decade but finally found solid footing and are hitting quarters. Very encouraging. This is also a super young team. They are built for next year if they can stay in main pool. The Germany game is their Superbowl and I'm guessing will be an amazing match!
