I'll be at this one, really hoping for an exciting game. Would love a cutter hat trick against philly.
You know the coaches are John Tortorella and Craig Cronin, right?

Happy that the Ducks hockey is back, 2 early-ish games in a row for us Europeans.

I'll be late to the party, because I'll be at the rink beforehand for my hometown team, but I'll tune in later on.

Just hoping for someone to level Michkov and for Cutter to pot in a few. Philly sucks donkey ass, as does a huge chunk of their fan base, so we better come out of the gate swinging.

Knowing Cronin, this will not happen, though.

I just remembered that both teams use the same color code for orange. Hope it will be easy to distinguish, ha.

Also, there was a time when both teams goal song was Bro Hymn.

Also both team coaches hate skill.

We're basically twin teams

Even before cutter, games v the flyers have been nasty for ages now. Johnston had a good stretch to start the season playing pretty well for his standards. He’s played worse and taken some dumb penalties and been scratched recently as a result. He then gets in v avalanche and fights. He fights today is my guess. Also might see a middle weight fight, someone like strome . Multiple flyers take slashing/hooking penalties on cutter If this game gets out of hand in either direction. My chargers at 10am directly following, my ducks. Great day it’s shaping up to be!

At least with the Flyers, we know their toughest customer Des actually carries himself with class. Less concerned about him taking liberties than if it were another team's goon

Yup, will be middle weight types taking stabs and slashes at cutter probably. Torts will encourage it imo

I dount Torts encourages to injure other people. Can blame him for many things but imo he's not THAT type of guy. I think he cares for the game and even other players

Can fight other coaches himself tho

I agree, he’s not encouraging injuries. But some light taps and to play cutter very hard and trash talk him. That’s definitely on the table

Plus if memory serves, Torts only comment about Cutter was basically “who cares?” The anger was all coming from the fans and the local media was trying to keep it going by constantly asking about it.

Yeah I really don't think Torts wants his team focusing any of their attention on one particular rookie forward on our team. He's a fiery old coot at times but he's wiser than that

If anything I would expect Torts to be very firm against his players even thinking about the Gauthier trade and focus on the game. I've always gotten the impression that while he's caused plenty himself, he doesn't care about hockey drama and thinks it's a distraction from "playing the game the right way" which is what he preaches constantly. He may not be the best at getting that from his players but that's his mindset.

Flyers give up the most goals in the league, The Ducks score the least amount of goals in the league.

Somethings gotta give, right?
So league wide average is 3.04 I think goals/game. So That is your over under…. If ducks score 3 or less Flyers win and if Ducks score 4 or more Ducks win.

Now to be fair this means you are worse

2-1 game inc

They are in the middle of the league with goals against. Which is not bad at all. But If this team was legitimately defending well then can say “hey things are not that bad”

But the truth is they still give up the most shots in the league, and the goaltending has kept them in games. I’d rather the goal scoring keep them in games , when Gibson or Dostal are not having their best night. Give them some goal support, and puts less pressure on them.

The PP is even worse than last year which is shocking and I just don’t know what to think anymore .

The only bright side to this is that Verbeek has to see how much more valuable Zegras is to this team. Even with him in the line up they still need another legit Top 6 scorer and would not be shocked if he does another Drysdale type trade to get another scorer in here.

So which young D would you move for which scorer? Minty/Zell/Lacombe for…?

Not disagreeing with the take my problem is not having the vision for a good fit that another team would entertain

Never said I’d like to move a D. I said wouldn’t be shocked if Verbeek did.

I’d prefer to find a solution within the system , if someone is ready to come up.

I just feel after last year and the year before don’t want to see another Killorn contract added, so a trade is the way to go , to avoid that. Thank goodness Stamkos didn’t take that contract Verbeek offered.
