Except for Canadian fans would never feel that if it wasn't 5 minutes penalty the game could go either way.Is this what fans of team Canada feel like when they play Latvia in Olympics?
I'm sure young Belarusian studs did amazingly at the annual Potato Harvest Cup. Probably only lost to the mighty Team Batyka.Except for Canadian fans would never feel that if it wasn't 5 minutes penalty the game could go either way.
By the way this would be a good game for Division 1. Not what could prevent Norway from promotion but fair 2nd place for Latvia.
This is both bullshit and uncalled for... I mean being sour is being sour but come on.Except for Canadian fans would never feel that if it wasn't 5 minutes penalty the game could go either way.

Good thing Team Great Britain didn't participate, that one would have been a sure loss as well. Probably with a relegation to Potato Cup Division 1 to boot.I'm sure young Belarusian studs did amazingly at the annual Potato Harvest Cup. Probably only lost to the mighty Team Batyka.
Yup, the one Austrian shot came 18 minutes into the period.Wait-shots were 22-1 in the 3rd period?
Do you guys have colour tvs in Belarus or do you just listen to the games on your collective farm's gramophone? Can't really see how the game could be described as going either way otherwise.Except for Canadian fans would never feel that if it wasn't 5 minutes penalty the game could go either way.

Wow, it took just one week from predicting Latvia 3rd place in the group to detailed justification of legitimacy of your win in relegation round. Relax man, I didn't have to spend my time for searching for tv6 broadcast to realize and acknowledge that mighty pesky Latvia is on its place. It's just numbers: you scored 4 goals at the group stage vs 2 Austrian goals; you had 2 scoreless games vs 3 Austrian ones (ignore the fact that they actually had way stronger group). And in the end, the face-to-face game: it took just 50 minutes and 5 minutes power play to prove it - you are a better team than one of the worst WJC teams ever. Well deserved, congratulations.Do you guys have colour tvs in Belarus or do you just listen to the games on your collective farm's gramophone? The Austrians played with 3 lines the entire game and completely ran out of gas already at the end of the 2nd period. Shots were 28-1 after that. Or as they say in Belarus, could have gone either way.
But, yeah, the Latvians finally realized they were more skilled and capable of doing individual raids at some point in the 2nd period, which led to about half a dozen scoring chances with a few dinged goalposts in the process.
The next game is going to be very challenging for the Austrians - we figured them out and we have their number.

I like how you not only ignored the fact they had a much stronger group (which you somehow still mentioned, very interesting) but also how they allowed 21 goals more in 4 games. Just a tiny non-descript factoid in light of this discussion, surely. It's just numbers: you scored 4 goals at the group stage vs 2 Austrian goals; you had 2 scoreless games vs 3 Austrian ones (ignore the fact that they actually had way stronger group).
Well, if you insist: Latvia is better team than Austria. It took only 50 minutes of play and 5-minutes powerplay to win over one of the worst WJC teams ever which allowed 35 goals in previous 4 games. To Latvia's credit they tied against Austria after 2 periods of play, just like against US. Winning over kids who used this tourney as a free ride to their NHL rookie camps and only cared not to get injuried is indeed a great result.By the way, where were you when Latvians made the QFs in the summer? Reservist training, had no internet?
Lol that's a good oneThis made me remember how the Austrians got to the elite in the first place though: winning D1A in Minsk with "Best Belarussian U20 generation ever" finishing in a fair 3rd place behind them and Latvia. I don't really blame any Belarussian for having this askew perception of all things D1A, that amount of PTSD doesn't just pass without consequences
Thanks for the congrats, I will be sure to congratulate you too if Belarus ever wins anything.Well, if you insist: Latvia is better team than Austria. But I strongly believe they could have made the semis if it was in June.
What do you mean? Latvia, and Belarus are both my NT. I consider myself a citizen of the Great Dutchy of Lithuania and those being separate nations is clearly just a misunderstanding. I'm sure if we were to run a referendum the right way 95% of the people would agree to come back into the fold. Surely.Lol that's a good one
I'm happy that stories like these give you opportunity to stick around the hockey community for lack of experience that your NT could give you. I'm not that good in psychology, is it called "living vicariously"? Or can I just compare it with a binoculars guy in the opposite house?
Oh my, do you really take everything so literally? Ok just disregard the word "free". Disregard the word ride. That wasn't the point. Thanks for the congrats, I will be sure to congratulate you too if Belarus ever wins anything.
P.S. The NHL rookie camp part is the funniest one. I do understand you are accustomed to paying to be on the team in your culture but you are invited to the NHL rookie camp they do cover the trip![]()
It's a topic for another big discussion but you are surely need to get ready to use Belarusian as the official business language. I have no doubt you understandWhat do you mean? You mean restoring the dead language that nobody talks? I guess we both better get ready then. It's a topic for another big discussion but you are surely need to get ready to use Belarusian as the official business language. I have no doubt you understand![]()
