I think we're getting ahead of ourselves already talking about Larkin being forced to sit out. I can't imagine there is going to be a stalemate starting in early June with zero compromising going into October.

This initial list is all negotiating, just like Ed and his agent will likely tell Yzerman that he wants 10m+ a season before agreeing to whatever is agreed to. I understand fans wanting to make Larkin suffer, but unless Yzerman actually pulls off a miracle and wins the trade (very unlikely), I don't think it'll be necessary to drag this out and hurt the franchise more than this already will.

I agree - but I think the point is there’s no way Yzerman goes ahead with a 3 team negotiation. Dylan needs to know the risk

I think Larkin likely knows that too. His agent is one of the top agents in the league and has negotiated trades himself. They know Larkin's value and they know the top teams have minimal assets. It's very possible that they're testing the waters to see what Yzerman's reaction is first and we'll see where we're at when we get to deadline #1 (of many) at the draft.

SY being backed into a corner by Larkins camp and forcing SY to accept a bad return, and that will actually hurt the franchise 10x more than Larkin sitting out

Lundell is a #2C, he just doesn’t have the offense. But the important part of his return is he can check other #1C’s around the league without getting run over.
Hes a 2C right now for sure, hes young though and still has room to grow offensively. Hes played exactly one season in a role including offence and he didnt do terrible. Major reason for 2 cup wins, comes from that culture in Florida as well. There may be some value in that too

I’m just not buying the 3 team rumor. This entire thing doesn’t make enough sense. There are definitely some missing pieces in all of this

HSJ is connected enough. I can believe Friedman saying perhaps theres a fourth team. I imagine conversations are being had and things are developing. We aren't in the room so of course theres hidden information.

I would like to date Sydney Sweeney, Megan Fox or Madison Beer

That’s the same energy you have right now Dylan
Don’t be ridiculous. Sweeney is within division, Fox doesn’t fit with your competitive window, and Beer doesn’t have the assets to make a meaningful trade. You need to pull your head out of your cheeks and expand this list.

Be realistic. :sarcasm:

Agreed. For all we know this is Larkin's agent saying "Name your top three destinations. We'll start from there and see what happens." Then the Wings leaked it knowing that the PR angle of this will only help them.

Thanks to Osama bin Larkin.
Ok, which one of you is Justin Spiro, stole my joke, and put this on Twitter?

To be fair, I saw that on twitter well before your post. I had assumed you got the idea from there. I dont even think that Spiro account was the first to post it.
How dare you imply I steal my jokes from Twitter

Nah, I'm rarely on Twitter, I follow some baseball prospect news there and that's about it. Had that image pop up in my feed when I opened the app just now though.

I came up with my joke simply riffing on Heaton's 9/11 meme shortly after the news dropped on Thursday. That was a jaster original, even if someone, unbeknownst to me, beat me to it.

While I am not keen on Yzerman sticking around much longer, I do have quite a bit of confidence he will handle this specific situation correctly.

Either Larkin expands that joke of a 3 team list, or I will make him stick around as essentially a prisoner. He can either put the jersey on and get booed out of the stadium, or he can sit there and be a healthy scratch until he expands that list.
This

Play hardball Steve. Dylan thinks he's in control by flexing the NMC...yeah, sit down loser, you signed a contract so man up and provide a real list, or sit out and forfeit millions.

Well, his contract is guaranteed. He'll get paid unless he's the one deciding to sit out.

Yeah, that's what I meant, if he is sitting out. I find it hard to believe after all this he would report to camp. The fans hate you, the manager hates you, the owners hate you, your teammates hate you and the city hates you. I guess money talks, so maybe if it lasts all summer, he does report and play.

All I know is if that happens, I would hope the fans boo him every time he touches the puck, and his teammates leave him out to dry.

Friedman reporting on some other trade requests coming this summer. Im not sure who it could be but I wonder if a swap could be an option?

This has me so excited. The writing was on the wall with the Larkin timeline. This is exactly what the org needed to rip off the bandaid. The universe will be in our favour after this guy is gone I truly believe it
Part of my hope of this is that this shit pisses off yzerman and gets him to wake up and start being the GM he was in Tampa. Provides him the ability to be aggressive and make sweeping changes

For whatever it's worth, Freidman said that he heard one other team with regard to Larkin being willing to waive his trade protection. He didn't mention which team, but IMO it wouldn't shock me if it was Tampa. Just a guess on my part.

So don't accept what is being reported as being gospel. We'll have to see how this plays out.
Hopefully it’s not Tampa they don’t have shit to give us. Hopefully it’s Dallas or NJ
