He's not 3 million better than Suzuki. Both about evenWhen has Montreal giving a bridge contract to a young superstar OFD ever backfired?
Pay him 10M now and be happy it isn't 12 or 13 later.
Sure, but he's also signing in a cap world that's 104 million when the contract starts. He's not 3 million better than Suzuki. Both about even
I think this is about right. Assuming Hutson will go for an 8 year deal.8 year $80 million.
You way overstating Hutson. Makar won a Norris coming off an ELC signed long term for 9m. Hutson only had one good year. Domi scored 73 points his first year never heard from him again.Sure, but he's also signing in a cap world that's 104 million when the contract starts.
Makar signed before his Norris for 6 years at 11% of the cap. Hutson's equivalent at that money would be 6x11.48 which I don't think anyone is expecting him to ask for.You way overstating Hutson. They aren't going to give Hutson that kind of money after one year. Your overhyped. It will wreck the Habs pay structureMakar signed before his Norris for 6 years at 11% of the cap. Hutson's equivalent at that money would be 6x11.48 which I don't think anyone is expecting him to ask for.
Also not really sure what Domi has to do with this? He had a great year but was riding a PDO of >103, then had much worse puck luck the next year before getting traded and not seeing that kind of ice time again until being put on a team that was 1 point above worst in the league, leading them in scoring despite missing a quarter of the season and putting up a 67 point pace in the process.
How did trading Subban for a better d-man backfire?Subban?
Wishful thinking lol.I imagine he signs a Suzuki type deal, Habs seem to have a very strong culture (to their detriment arguably - see TDL) and Hutson’s habits make it clear that all he wants to do is win
Can’t see him demanding a massive contract that handcuffs the team tbh even if it’s the right move
What kind of money do you mean here? They aren't going to give Hutson that kind of money after one year. Your overhyped. It will wreck the Habs pay structure
yeah comparing Hutson to michkov, demidov and reinbacher. Hope thats alright. This is a thread speculating on the value of lane hutsons next contract.
If you want to talk about michkov, demidov or reinbacher please do so in the appropriate thread.
Thanks in advance for not further derailing this thread
its not alright. it doesnt make sense. please stop.yeah comparing Hutson to michkov, demidov and reinbacher. Hope thats alright.
That's preposterous. What Lane has done in his rookie season is historic. His defense has been more than adequate and will improve significantly with more reps, more years and more development.I think the habs will be feeling a bit like the oilers do with Bouchard.
You have to pay because of big numbers, but the big commanded cap doesn't reflect total 2way impact that they should.
my apologies to everyone in this thread for comparing Hutson favorably to michkov, demidov and reinbacherits not alright. it doesnt make sense. please stop.
That was not his question. Giving him a bridge deal was a mistake. they had to pay him 9 million on his long deal after. How did trading Subban for a better d-man backfire?
Everyone knows your schtick and what you’re trying to do here. It’s the same thing you do in every other Habs related thread. And before you respond with “What am I trying to do? Lol”, you know, and so does everyone else.my apologies to everyone in this thread for comparing Hutson favorably to michkov, demidov and reinbacher
