Value of: Lane Hutson's off-season contract

You way overstating Hutson. Makar won a Norris coming off an ELC signed long term for 9m. Hutson only had one good year. Domi scored 73 points his first year never heard from him again.
Makar signed before his Norris for 6 years at 11% of the cap. Hutson's equivalent at that money would be 6x11.48 which I don't think anyone is expecting him to ask for.

Also not really sure what Domi has to do with this? He had a great year but was riding a PDO of >103, then had much worse puck luck the next year before getting traded and not seeing that kind of ice time again until being put on a team that was 1 point above worst in the league, leading them in scoring despite missing a quarter of the season and putting up a 67 point pace in the process.

They aren't going to give Hutson that kind of money after one year. Your overhyped. It will wreck the Habs pay structure

I imagine he signs a Suzuki type deal, Habs seem to have a very strong culture (to their detriment arguably - see TDL) and Hutson’s habits make it clear that all he wants to do is win

Can’t see him demanding a massive contract that handcuffs the team tbh even if it’s the right move
Wishful thinking lol.

What kind of money do you mean here?

The cap is going up more than 27% from when Suzuki signed his by the time Hutson's starts. Equivalent money would be 10.05M per year for Hutson.

This is a thread speculating on the value of lane hutsons next contract.

If you want to talk about michkov, demidov or reinbacher please do so in the appropriate thread.

Thanks in advance for not further derailing this thread
yeah comparing Hutson to michkov, demidov and reinbacher. Hope thats alright.

Whatever the contract ends up being, Lane will take a 3M AAV hit. Hughes will argue that he's a PP, 2nd assist merchant who is statistically the worst dman in the league. ;)

I think the habs will be feeling a bit like the oilers do with Bouchard.

You have to pay because of big numbers, but the big commanded cap doesn't reflect total 2way impact that they should.
That's preposterous. What Lane has done in his rookie season is historic. His defense has been more than adequate and will improve significantly with more reps, more years and more development.

Bouchard has been in the league for 5 x years now. We pretty much know what he is.

Hutson, the skies the limit.

my apologies to everyone in this thread for comparing Hutson favorably to michkov, demidov and reinbacher
Everyone knows your schtick and what you’re trying to do here. It’s the same thing you do in every other Habs related thread. And before you respond with “What am I trying to do? Lol”, you know, and so does everyone else.

3 year bridge deal similar to McAvoy, and a few other top young defensemen at the time.

Why sacrifice many millions if he is as good as he appears?

Have to wait until next summer. I don't know if let's say Demidov comes out strong, does Hutson value go lower or gives more chips to the GM. Like hey there's another dude with more skills than you bro.
