metrics say Bouchard's is better fwiwHis two way play had been fine especially for a rookie. Bouchard is bad defensively, Hutson is okay.

Eh, I see the difference being that Hutson is the play driver for Montreal whereas Bouchard’s stats are a bit inflated from 97/29I think the habs will be feeling a bit like the oilers do with Bouchard.
You have to pay because of big numbers, but the big commanded cap doesn't reflect total 2way impact that they should.
He had 17 goals, which is super impressive.
He had 46 points.
For reference, Hutson could surpass Gostisbehere's career high in his rookie season.
Come back when you actually have something, Champ.
i mean, pre-hip surgery Ghost was pretty good. he never came close to those goalscoring totals afterwards tho.A D in their rookie season pacing for 60pts? Crazy! That is like Gostisbehere good!
If Reinbacher plays WITH Hutson it can only be good for his game. It would be a whole lot more pressure on Reinbacher WITHOUT a Hutson to lean on, having to play the role of franchise savior every night.Even if he gets overpaid it will be worth it, the problem is when you have overpaid useless players like laine, Anderson etc.
I feel bad for reinbacher, he is already under so much pressure to perform in his rookie season after being selected over michkov and now he has to deal with a 2nd round pick on his team potentially winning the calder
The last time the Habs met the Leafs in the playoffs produced enough salt in Toronto to upset the universe's salt reserves. The leafs have consistently made the playoffs while the habs are coming off of three straight lottery finishes at the bottom of the league
There are a lot of teams that leaf fans are jealous of but montreal is not one of them
This thread has nothing to do with toronto, maybe you should focus on supporting Hutson instead of being so obsessed with the leafs?
Habs are building a team full of chads. Slaf, suzuki, guhle, demidov and Hutson. No place for puffy faced manletsSo salty. Now, imagine when Demidov will outplay Michkov
Imagine Hutson with Mcdavid and Draisatl on the PP lol.Eh, I see the difference being that Hutson is the play driver for Montreal whereas Bouchard’s stats are a bit inflated from 97/29
Injury issues even in his first year, sad. Nobody cares about 46 point seasons, that’s for sure!Worth noting, that was in only 64 games for Ghost, while playing pretty good defense.
lol he was in the AHL before getting called upInjury issues even in his first year, sad. Nobody cares about 46 point seasons, that’s for sure!
A bridge deal could benefit both sides. Montreal gets extra two years on other end. A bridge deal say 6x2, then 12x8 takes Hutson until he is 32. Montreal gets next 10 years. At 32 his prime years be gone.Him and his agent would be absolutely crazy not to sign a bridge deal
Probably 7.8m by 8 years. Doubt he jumps Suzuki
I think Suzuki make 7.95m. close enough to get a long term deal done.Suzuki signed 2 years ago though, in a flat cap environment.
The Canadiens seem to have a good team culture going for them so Hutson will probably sign for less than market value, but even then I doubt Hutson take less than $8M-$8.5M per.
But if he does I will be pleasantly surprised.
When has Montreal giving a bridge contract to a young superstar OFD ever backfired?A bridge deal could benefit both sides. Montreal gets extra two years on other end. A bridge deal say 6x2, then 12x8 takes Hutson until he is 32. Montreal gets next 10 years. At 32 his prime years be gone.
An 8x8 now only takes Hutson until he is 30. Montreal would have to redo him.
He can sign a similar deal with a reasonable by-cap-percentage adjustment. As a youngster, I'd do whatever I could to get the bulk of that contract paid upfront so I could compound interest the hell out of a 8 figure signing bonus. Well, as a more knowledgeable adult in Lane's shoes...He would be crazy to sign a deal like that now when the cap is getting ready to explode. If he continues on his current trajectory he will make more than that.
Subban? When has Montreal giving a bridge contract to a young superstar OFD ever backfired?
Pay him 10M now and be happy it isn't 12 or 13 later.
There isn’t a chance in hell Hutson signs a 8x8 deal right now… those are examples of deals from a few years ago… with the cap going up significantly every year, 8 year deals to young studs are going to be many more millions a season now.A bridge deal could benefit both sides.
