Value of: Lane Hutson's off-season contract

You're showing your ignorance. Caufield actually is a much better player now than what people thought he would be after his first couple seasons.
The hot takes on here, are just that..............the hate flows through anything Habs. It just does.
The kid has had a fantastic season......the numbers are very impressive, and there is no way to say anything but.

well the current top 3 defenseman, who will likely be the 3 finalists for Norris, all took 6 year deals, on second contract.
Six years is not a bridge deal at all. But yes it's not max term. I really wouldn't be surprised to see a 6 year deal here. Get security but don't cap your long term earnings too much in a rising cap when you've already broken out as a player.

Yes that’s true, I was just replying as you saw, to the poster that said, the top young guys always take max term deals.
Then I showed the top 3 all took 6 year deals

He’s an amazing offensive talent but has a lot of work to do on the defensive side of the puck and learning when to make the safe play or they need to pair him with an elite shutdown D that covers his mistakes. If you subtract his bad from his good you have a $7.5MM player
Not necessary. He is trying to do much because there are only 4-5 forwards with any scoring ability. He is smart rnough to tone it dwon once the Hbs have 2+ scoring lines.

Oh geez Hutson pushed the Ghost out of the historical rookie season top 30, and he's getting close to the top 5. LMFAO

I'd be a pretty aggressive GM to enforce the cap structure of our team, so 5 years at $7,875,000 or 8,875,000 to be closer to Nick Suzuki's contract. Then, an 8-years deal around 13,000,000 or 14,000,000 to finish his career with the Habs, no matter what.

He gonna get paid and it'll be worth it.

Even if he gets overpaid it will be worth it, the problem is when you have overpaid useless players like laine, Anderson etc.

I feel bad for reinbacher, he is already under so much pressure to perform in his rookie season after being selected over michkov and now he has to deal with a 2nd round pick on his team potentially winning the calder

Personally, I love it. Pure salt. A lot of these Leafs fans have turned into full-time salt miners this season due to Hutson. This is just them paying their dues lol.

The leafs have consistently made the playoffs while the habs are coming off of three straight lottery finishes at the bottom of the league

There are a lot of teams that leaf fans are jealous of but montreal is not one of them

This thread has nothing to do with toronto, maybe you should focus on supporting Hutson instead of being so obsessed with the leafs?
