Not to be that guy, but has there been any indication that he wants to return to the states? I know the taxes and social situations are drastically different between the states and Canada but I'm not sure/haven't seen if there is anything that indicates Lane feels one way or the other?

Not to be that guy, but let me be that guy
:silly:

I doubt he will want to sign this summer. You never know I guess but realistically he will probably want to atleast back up a strong rookie season with a good start to next season.
I think he points to Faber and says "I want that." Then they mutually agree to come under the Suzuki number and signs long term around $7.5m.

What absolute horseshit lmao.

Sign him long term as soon as you can, unless you learned literally nothing from the Subban situation.
That if a player whines enough the owner will come over the top of his GM to hand out an awful contract?

That bridging a proven, obviously talented player who wants to play in your city will result in them using that leverage to sign an exorbitant contract once they're a consistent Norris contender

He needs to go down to the AHL to learn how to play defense, but I think MTL can risk it and maybe give him a one-way.....

I don't see him as an integral piece on a contender, so if MTL becomes a playoff team, they could always trade him to a non-playoff team looking for some offense.

Green does not suit you...

Dang 2 games to burn a whole year?? What a waste for Montreal... I'm surprised GMs allow this sort of stuff to happen....If i was a GM it wouldn't happen on my watch.

If he signed and burned yr 1 he cant get an offer shert. I dont ser him being signed till end of the contract.

it's better than having a lot of your high end NCAA prospects not sign, a lot of teams have that problem

Sure. Montreal is an awesome city. Tons to love.

Money talks though. Can Montreal (or any Canadian team) make up the difference in $ value? Could find out in the summer.

The Cad dollar weakening would be good for players in Cad already under contract no? All contracts are in USD, it would increase purchasing power.

Since he is the best player in the world but also a team guy I’m sure he will get 8x10.5 :sarcasm:

His head fakes are elite. He will head fake the gm out of his chair.
A joke on Hutson about headfakes ahahah you are so hilarious ahahah.
