Player Discussion Lane Hutson: Part 3 - Calder Edition

It's just the beginning.. there's higher levels to him.

Lane Hutson is now tied with Mario Lemieux in 10th all time in terms of assists by all skaters in a rookie season with 57.

He is tied with Mario Lemieux. I had to double check that to make sure it wasn’t an April fools joke.

Tonight he passed teemu selanne

He's out here having a historic season and I have to listen to people tell me there's a fight for the calder trophy. If he doesn't clean house the league is a joke. he doesn't even play the easy minutes. The guy is up there with the HOF d-man in their rookie year and he's most likely going to end up in the top 5. the guy is tied for assist with makar who plays with mackinnon, a heart candidate.

just special.

He's so strong that he will receive votes for the Norris trophy or at least honorable mentions....

I don't understand how he never gets tired and rarely gets outmuscled by the NHL freaks when he's 5'9 and 165lbs.
Check his legs. Hutson, Savard, and MSL are at war to know which one got the biggest. He's also a pure motor, a rare breath condition where someone never misses a single dose of oxygen. That kid is a machine

Never did a rookie D-man win the Norris and the Calder the same year, but due to the historical situation and the fact that with his efforts, the Habs were to go to the playoffs, should journalists (who vote) consider Lane Hutson's impact factor over the production of the top three D-men?

We already knew that, but it's sad to see how many people who don't actually watch games post with so much confidence on the main board. The secondary assists/doesn't play defence arguments being repeated ad-nauseum...

they'll get to watch him the playoffs and the attitude will change
