Hundreds of 18 year old centers have paced for over 70 points ? Just an FYI, despite his injury, he holds the 19th spot for most points by an 18 year old in NHL history. You're completely wrong there.
That's a much smaller comparison sample though since the draft used to be 19-20 year olds and less than 4 guys make the league in their d+1 every year. Hence why it's best rookie, Hutson is compared to players who had even more advantageous situations than him and he's still already top 10 and pacing for a top 5 finish.

If you selectively add a criteria like dmen who were rookies and turned 21 in the season he's already top 5.

I don't care if he wins it or not. Frankly, if that trophy means adding some Money to the contract...let Michkov have it so that he f***s them up right after....

Played 24 minutes against the Canes. The guy is going to be great one. Guhle played 19 minutes, good to see him back. Matheson played 21 minutes, like to see him around 19 minutes. Wifi should sit next game, played less than 4 minutes. Foolishly costs us a goal.

Xhekaj looks like the odd man out or he will play around 10 minutes a game as a 7th D. Matheson can have a -4 game, not miss a shift and the following game plays near 26 minutes.

Lane Hutson is now officially 10th all time in NHL Rookie Defenseman scoring with 58 points.

Next up, Nicklas Lidstrom at 9th with 60 points. 3 more points to beat Lidstrom/Larson/Beck and will be 7th all time.

Will be hard but has to get 65 pts to beat Chris Chelios 6th overall. 66 pts to beat Raymond Bourque at 5th overall.
Chelios shouldn’t be on the list given he played some 14 regular season games post 1984 Olympics and an additional 20’ish in the playoffs, prior to his 1984-1985 ”rookie season”

If LH doesn't sign for the team structure 7.5m x 8 then trade him asap. Anything more than this will hurt the club's future.

Idgaf about his metrics.. hes a Future Star point producing defender.. but his size is a serious hinder.

If we can trade him for an EQUAL valued young C or RHD, then go for it..
Forgot your /s ?
If not, terrible post. Hutson is untouchable and I'd sign him for 10M without an ounce of hesitation.

People do realize that the cap is going to go up around one third of what is it now, right? You multiply by 1.333. Star players' contracts will soon approach the high tens.
