I'm not suggesting that Crosby will be traded, but I think you are grossly under-estimating the burning desire to win that drives high level athletes.
Crosby is suffering a lot, playing for a lousy team with a clueless General Manager.
Much like Gretzky before him, he's always going to say the "right thing" and I can't imagine him every saying, publicly, that he wants anything other than to stay in Pittsburgh, but behind the scenes, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Crosby wanted to play games that actually matter before the hour glass runs out for him. I don't think his "Pittsburgh Legacy" compares, in anyway to his desire to win.
