This kid is playing 20+ minutes a game as a sub 6 foot D at 170lbs. No quarter was given with his defensive responsibilities as a D or 5v5 minutes. This could our 2nd round ringer! Kind of like Kucherov in the 2nd round for Tampa.
 
Hutson thread was on the 2nd page? Come on guys lol.

I think we are about to get the real value from Hutson with our games left. This will be some real competitive games where teams play more physical and things start to get tighter. Over the last two games, you can see teams focus on the Matheson/Hutson pairing a bit more and they are playing them more physical no doubt.

The ones who are above the average line will continue to fill the seats. It has to get real bad to affect the major sports IMO.

I've lived a long life and have spent most of that in the business world: law, equity markets and now sports management. I have found very few businesses that can claim that they’re recession proof. There are dark clouds looming. I'm afraid very few of us will be immune.

I think the medium line or majority of population is too stretched on the curve. In the past, you can capture most of our population on the middle of the curve between rich and poor but today, that has been stretched too much. Pricing goods and cost of living has forced so many families thin. It's a real shame to the leaders in this world but they don't care. They are focused on their 8 years of service and full pensions... that's where most of their energy is spent.

I do agree dark clouds are looming and we might see more violence. You push people to the breaking point and they start to do crazy stuff. It's much worse when that population is not 10% and close to 50%. It's tracking like that. The ones well above the line today will be like.... what's wrong? How did we get here? Reactive type people who have poor proactive skills.

I really wish I could win the lottery so I can help others as much as I can. I have no kids and met my g/f late in her life. I would have no plans to leave money behind and I think I would be stimulated by helping others in the trenches.... like paying for their groceries in line-ups and also helping families at X-Mas or depth. I don't know about you or others but having the ability to help others who are struggling would really make me happy. I do come from a small town growing up.
 
Lane is fighting an uphill battle against Celebrini.
The sad thing is as Defenseman Lane's +/- will be looked at as a fault while Celebrini's won't even be looked at. Lane is going to have to outscore Celebrini by like 10 points to win the Calder sad but true.

There's something you're ommiting. Lane can still beat the rookie D assists record. He doesn't need to outscore Celebrini. That's a recency bias perspective that ignores the perspective people will have if Lane finishes above 60 points and/or 60 assists.

If people see tweets saying "2nd all-time for rookie D assists" and "top 5-10 all-time" rookie D points and "top 5 all-time rookie D ES points", the perspective will change quickly as Celebrini is far from such milestones among centermen.

Also, in the middle of his 28 pts in 26 games sequence, he had a four game drought. He had a four game drought last week and people are once again expecting a drop, and yet, he got a point last night and might be on the cusp of picking it up again.

Also, Celebrini's +/- is nothing to write home about either.

I get thinking Cellebrini will win. That’s cool. But Hutson is well in this race and could easily take it. It was never going to be easy and this thing is going to go back and forth all season long.

Not sure why that’s laughable, he’s been getting caved in defensively and his point pace has slowed significantly

He’s 3rd behind Celebrini and Wolf right now and I think it would take a pretty big turnaround to get back in the lead

Also how can he “easily take it” if it was “never going to be easy” lol

Some old hockey writers (voters) will cling to old school ideas of how a defenseman should look and play.
The same thinking that landed him at 62 will creep into the voting.

It’s going to Mack if he can stay healthy.

This is basically what I’m getting at, I would personally still give him the Calder but I just don’t see it happening
