Posters told me before the season started that Matheson was fine and no way should Hutson be on PP1 to start though.

Just like they say Demidov shouldn't be on the top line and PP1 next year for reasons.

Except for maybe 1 or 2 people, nobody thought Matheson was a better pp option than Hutson.

What was said is that you don't remove a player who was successful on the pp last season for a rookie with 2 NHL games. The rookie needs to earn it and the coach don't want to lose the bond with his veteran player.

Same thing with Demidov. He won't push out Laine/Caufield/Suzuki from pp1 unit when he has played 0 NHL games. It makes 0 sense for the coach to do that, even though Demidov will likely be better than some of them.

I’m not following …. Of course it is, they even have the wealthiest owner (SAP co-founder) in the NHL who is totally hands off. Their season ticket base & luxury boxes are owned by Silicon Valley types

It’s also why the 49ers moved to play in San Jose
The 49ers moved to Santa Clara because believed they have better opportunities to develop the land surrounding a stadium. Candle Stick offered fewer opportunities due to local government and geography

I guess the coaching staff agreed with those posters.

Hard to argue with success. His transition to the NHL has been smooth.

Can you imagine Hutson on Oilers? On a 3 year ELC deal. They'd won cup last year. Be heavy favourite this season. Kulak worst trade NHL all-time for Oilers.
No, it isn’t for the oilers .

They traded a late 2nd round pick, not Hutson .

After Hutson assisted on the game-winning goal last night, I told my wife that he seems to get better as the game goes on - he's been at the center of so many late-game heroics this season. So, I decided to dig into the numbers.

Of Lane's 36 points, 17 (just under half) have come in the third period or overtime. The Habs record when he records a point in the 3rd period/OT? 12-2-0. In nine of those games, he's either scored or assisted on the game-tying or game-winning goal.

The Vancouver game really stands out - he racked up three points in the third and overtime, assisting on the game-tying goal, scoring the go-ahead goal, and, after the Canucks tied it up, assisting on the game-winner.

This guy has a serious clutch factor. He just does. I've waited my whole life for a game-breaking talent on the Montreal Canadiens. I never thought it would come in the form of a 5'9, 160 lbs defenseman, but here we are lol.

He difinitely has that ''big moments'' swagger about him. He not only wants to be on the ice when it really counts but he also wants to have the puck on his stick to make the big play.

The narrative from Wetcoast on the main is now that Hutson will not be as good in the playoffs.

But he is clutch because his compete level is high. Imo, his compete level will be even higher in the playoffs.

(I would've liked your post, but I spent too much time on the main ;))

He did this in NCAA too. If his team needed a goal late, Hutson was at his best. He would generate chance after chance. Plays like a winner.

His talent is undeniable but I am more impressed with his compete level. A true winner. We hit gold in the 2022 draft.
Yeah insane motor and stamina.

I said earlier he could hit a wall and it was likely happening a month or two ago. I was dead wrong but I still think it possible. I don’t understand how he can do this from playing so few games last year.

Hope I’m wrong again of course

Really impressive.

That being said, do you guys remember the loser of Brady Tkatchuk mocking him while behind the net??

That's exactly why intelligent players never do that. It's because the only way it ends is you looking like a stupid moron.
