Lane Hutson Burgeoning Star Watch

Well I think it's very true and far from "one of the worst opinion" on a 130 pages thread and I have defended it with very clear evidence. To recap: ton more goals, in a lower scoring era, a much higher percentage of primary points and getting many first place calder votes against a legitimate star player. You can't ignore 17 goals as a rookie defenseman, in a low scoring era, you just can't. That's outstanding. and as of now, the only pushback is from habs fans, so yeah. But as you can see, I think very highly of his rookie season, that should give you a good idea of what I think about Hutson's season too, no? Btw I think him and Reinbacher is going to be a great, if not elite, pair. I was one of the very few non-habs fan who voted for Reinbacher against Nemec and Jiricek on a poll like 2 years ago and it was considered insane at the time, might not end up being too crazy... I'm not a habs hater, and I think Demidov could end up having a similar impact to what Michkov could end up having too.

"very obvious that’s not what you two are doing lmao"
"that’s clearly not the reason you did it"

I found these 2 statements vague, sorry but I think you were insinuating that I was a habs hater. That's my best guess :dunno:
I don’t understand what your opinion about other Habs prospects have to do with this

There is simply no universe where Ghost’s rookie season is better than Hutson’s. If you actually believe that I don’t know what to tell you

Taryn Tkachuk also has two superstar brothers in the league... do you want the Devils to acquire her?

Why do you value the star-quality of a player's sibling? What does that have to do with anything?
So you think Luke Hughes is a comparable talent to Taryn Tkachuk? I think Luke might be a touch better.

Honestly why does it hurt your feelings so bad that a Devils fan wants to keep Luke Hughes over Hutson?
It doesn't make me feel any kind of way about you preferring Hutson over Luke Hughes.

I think you have me confused with someone else. I never even mentioned Hutson in any capacity.

The only thing I was puzzled by was why you care about the siblings of any player on your roster. Why would having "superstar brothers" in the league somehow affect your opinion of Luke Hughes. I don't see the connection.

Sorry totally did mix up posters.

It's because I see the other 2 when I watch Luke.

So you'd assume I'd want to keep the guy that seems like he's going to dominate the league, like his brothers already do.

Also, I do think having 2 Hughes brothers already on the team just might tip the scales on the 3rd joining them.

Because Ghost played less games? It's that simple. Oh and also, difference in scoring between eras.
Ghost playing less games isn't Lane's fault. Lane looks like he will get the whols season in. While Ghost had a great rookie season Lanes has already been better with more to come.

Goalscoring by a D can be very situational and consequent of the strategies of a team's make-up, setup plays and the like, which is why Ghost went from 17 in his rookie season to 7 goals in his sophomore season while playing 12 more games in the latter. Habs season record for goals by a D is held by Sheldon Souray, but you will find very few Habs fans who would've taken him over the playmaker, Markov, in that particular season or any other season for that matter.

You may argue that his season was more impressive to you, but it isn't for most people who appreciate the value of playmaking.

Not sure why I would care about current Ghost? I was talking about his rookie season because that's what was being compared initially. Ghost had 31 primary points in 64 games (67% of his points) while Hutson has 27 (48% of his points). Point is, scoring 12 more goals in less games is very impressive. I guess y'all completely forgot how highly touted Ghost was after his rookie season or...?

Lane Hutson scored 30 goals in 77 games in the NCAA and the other guy has 22 in 119.

Lane Hutson is going to score a lot more goals than Gostisbehere in the NHL.

His shot is underrated, when he gets stronger the pucks will go in.

Hutson is an absolute shoe in for Rookie of the Year. Hes just 4 points away from beating the all time points record for a rookie defenceman in NHL history!! The guy is absolutely incredible and hes only a rookie. IM gobsmacked on how good this guy is at such an early age.
