Extremely high offensive IQ, on the same level as Hughes and Makar IMO.

He doesn't compare to either in his own end though, so it remains to be seen if he will truly enter that conversation.

But I see no reason why he won't dominate offensively for many years to come. He's very exciting to watch as a neutral fan, some of the quick pivots and fakeouts are next-level.

Safe to say the Habs stole him and he would go at the very least top 3 in a redraft, if not 1st overall.

I didn't make that claim.

I am 100% impressed by how his offensive play driving has improved into elite levels after a rough start to the year in that regard. Defense is still a pretty big struggle, but he's similar in terms of level of play to current Erik Karlsson as a very high event guy 5v5. Slightly winning his minutes since the start of november is TRULY impressive work after a rough 1st month.

Also a perfect weapon for that PP alongside the 2 snipers in Laine and Caufield. Not too sure how he would translate to a different team in that regard with less optimal sniper threats, but that doesn't matter since he is excelling with what he has right now in that regard

Was just pointing out how current dman point totals are not at all comparable to a decade+ ago or even ike 6-7 years ago.

Boyle had a nice career, but he never scored more than 22 pts until he was 26 years old. His first five seasons were all minus.

I'm not sure where the comparison came from, either. That's why I pointed out that Boyle only hit his stride in his mid-20s and, up until then, never reached the numbers Hutson's putting up as a 20-year-old.

Not that it's a big deal, but Boyle's +/- in his first five years were 0 / -2 / -14 / -1 / -15.

Even if your numbers were correct, it wouldn't be negative for the first 5 years as year one wasn't negative, but your numbers are only picking up the first 4 years. 0 in year 1, -2 in year 2, -14 in year 3, -16 in year 3 (-1 with FLA and -15 with TBL) and +9 in year 5.
