Surely this thread is just jest and not serious, right? Hutson is one of the only good player on the Habs. He's the best D in xG and he's on pace for 60 points while not playing the PP?
What did you expect , why would they watch , and even if they did watch when their team plays him, why would they care about what good he does outside of 1 or 2 bad possessions of him that they will focus on , people already have their minds made up

You have the option of ignoring any thread in which you choose not to participate.
I wish to participate in this thread, it's just polluted with people that are clearly here to T word. It's fine to be apprehensive and have doubts, but the posts about him being a AHL level player are not that.

It just diminishes the quality of this board so much when this type of behavior is allowed.

Anyway...

Funny because I’ve seen you with this exact behaviour in multiple threads. Seems like it only hurt your feelings now cause it’s the habs. Please stop diminishing the quality of this board thanks.

He’s not a complete player, but few dmen are in their d+3. The hate feels like nothing more than begrudging Montreal for hitting on a second rounder.
He's not far from complete. On such a defensively inept team he's actually a breath of fresh air.

That doesn't mean he doesn't get caught pinching or otherwise, but he is for all intent and purpose a good defender. He's also always going to be outmatched physically too but he's pretty good at working around that.

Don't think I ever did. I love hockey and I love watching it. I do have strong opinions but I don't think I'm ever calling such a talent as Hutson a AHL player because reasons.

You said a player who had back to back 60 point seasons at 21 and 22 was never any good. Clearly you didn’t watch him. Now I’m sure you’ll say your right because of point totals without using any logic or seeing the transformations in their game.

You did it. Maybe before you post think if you are part of the problem when you are going to cry later on.

I don't think he is. There's also clear indications he's vanilla as hell.

I'll say the exact same thing about Mike Matheson by the way. If the only argument for Hutson were his points I'd be calling him terrible too.

Heck, I'm on record on the Habs board saying the league's leading goalscorer is terrier and I wish they traded him, he also happens to be a hab.

Points are only one argument.

I wasn’t referring to any Habs by the way. It was about a player you don’t watch and it was evident.

Not the right thread for the argument so I’ll drop it. I have no arguments about Hutson he is very talented and Dmen and young players take time to adjust in this league.

Just pointing out you act high and mighty with your opinions on players but started to sook about the “quality” of the board when I’ve watched you do the exact same thing.

Zegras was the first part of my answer. I've seen through him since 2019 and I've been right every single second.

Leo Carlsson is one of my favorite prospect in quite some time and I try to watch him as often as I can ;) (hasn't been too good either but...)

Notice I didn't call him a AHL player ;)

You think you’ve been right. Please stop lowering the quality of this board with your bias opinions when you don’t watch. Carlsson has been fine. He’s 19. Please stop lowering the quality of this board with your uneducated opinions.

Yeah not at all… he’s been holding his own, and the best way to develop his all around game is to keep playing against the best. Had some great defensive back checks here and there, on top of his occasional giveaway.

12 hits and 25 blocked shots in 14 games is quite solid for a highly skilled 5’10 163 lbs rookie
He’s more than holding his own. He creates offense and open space on almost every shift. He’s been fantastic and is right there with Michkov in the Calder race.

Major L take

Beside Slafkovsky and maybe Cooley, who do you take before him?
9 players have played more nhl games
6 players have scored more points in the nhl

but i agree. this is not indicative that those players are better. so close to the draft year the stats are not only depending on the players quality. equally opportunity plays a huge role. young players have a much harder time to gain playing time on a contender.

hutson on the other hand as a golden opportunity with the habs d-core.

I have not watched many Canadiens games this year (as I am a Canuck fan first) but I do love how Hutson plays and how he carries the puck. The question remains on what is Hutson's ceiling, will he have the impact like a Hughes or be like Krug or a Barrie. The kid is offensively talented but so are many of the young players today. If i was Montreal I would have Hutson have a chat with Quinn Hughes and have Hutson pick his brain lol. A lot of people crapped on Hughes and said he was only going to be an offensive player and that is far from the case now.

It will be interesting to see how Hutson progresses the next couple of years as Montreal gets better (they have to improve defensively, right?). I highly doubt that Montreal makes the playoffs this year until they learn to play defense. Just enjoy the play of Hutson and others in an offensive style.

He is a great skater and offensively talented. He is subpar at defense. If he can fix that, likely in the minors, he'll be a great player.

Why do you think he should be in the minors and how do think being in the minors would help his development?

Why wouldn’t Reinbacher stay healthy? Freak accident, which was his first major injury in his carrer

But people who doesn’t watch the games wouldn’t know that. He’s been surprisingly strong around the boards and wins more puck battles than I anticipated. His compete level is off the chart and grossly underrated.

Also:

Another great example of what I just described

was his compete level off the charts on this play? or is this not a good example

the correct answer is probably something in between "ahl level" and "suprisingly strong, compete level off the charts"

It is a terrible example and has nothing to do with work ethic. He pivoted on the wrong side. Do you understand anything about hockey?

I don't see anything wrong with his compete level on that play. He got beat that's it. But I guess compete lvl isn't something you're used to see as a leafs fan
