Oh, you're taking a shot at Montreals former management. Yeah, they were bad.

But I am enjoying your postings today. Perhaps not in a way you'd hope but I am enjoying them regardless.

"take it back to frame 46 here..."
Oh, trust me, I really don't care about whether you enjoy my posts or not. I'm sorry that you took such offense to my pointing out that someone in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks though.

Not 100% sold on Lane Hutson, I have concern about his size, sometimes I think he tries to do too much by himself. Defensive mistake are expected from a 20 years old defenseman, still have plenty of time to learn this side of the game.

But the talent is there there is not denying. Just not really the type of defenseman I prefer to build a d squad around.

Anyways, back to the frame by frame analysis.
Did you have a question about the 5 frames I posted? Are you confused about those too? It really wasn't that involved, just showing the elements of the play and how Hutson ended up out of position.
All this over criticisms about Hutson's play. Nobody even called him a bust, Just simple criticisms of a rookie.
He seems fine. He's making things happen offensively and defensively. Both are entertaining. That will happen with a 20 year old D-man who seems to have free reign by the coach.

If you decide to go into camp with the idea of savard is the guy that is going to mentor this kid on a pairing…….. then you deserve the outcome

Bad coaching and bad management

They have 10 picks in the first 3 rounds, don’t tell me they didn’t have the capital to target someone or at free agency.

Savard had some of the worst underlying defensive numbers in the NHL last season

All indications they are incredibly high on him, so get him the partner necessary to help him play his game
Hutson is babysitting Savard at this point , Ghule is playing RD on his off side to babysit Matheson, it's a travesty , our vets suck

Kovacevik had body position and was first to the puck. I'd count that as a turnover. Regardless, it's definitely a bang-bang play.

Heineman has the lowest TOI on a bad team. I'd expect a very good NHL players to react to that pass by not immediately firing the puck toward the net. If a third liner on the Jets got the puck in that position and reacted by scanning the ice and deliver a crisp pass to a D-man that has moved below the hash marks, I'd be stunned.

If Hutson doesn't glide down below the hashmarks, how much does that reduce his chance to recover a potential rebound? And how much does it improve his chances to not give up a game-killing goal against?

Making it too complex. MTL is down a goal in the 3rd they're trying to score, he took very dangerous ice that was open/given to him, his team had the puck, or at least ended up getting it. They executed horribly.

The idea that he's way out of position or took some crazy unncessary risk, i really don't see it.

End of the day when a relatively unknown comes out of no where and gets fan and media hype machines comparing him to the leagues best dmen based on some head fakes in training camp, you are inviting people to critique the player with heavy scrutiny.

Especially when a few years ago, it was Wifi who was the next big thing and now looks like he might not be an NHL player. This is a very flawed player, it remains to be seen if he can overcome his defensive issues and size constraints to be a player you can lean on to win with like Hughes and Makar.

We clearly disagree. That's fine. I watched Byfuglien take those risks for 10 years. It was super fun. Sometimes it didn't work out. I think putting yourself in a position where you can't possibly recover with most of the third period left is taking an unnecessary risk in order to try to produce a goal.

Lmao.
Hutson put himself in a bad position and you're blaming the 4th line forward who made a great pass for not also bailing hutson out by outskating JACK HUGHES on the backcheck (Hutson was right beside Jack)

It seems like the exact spot Hutson should have been in, was the exact spot the puck came out to Jesper Bratt
I must say I find it pretty funny trying to see you break down actual plays. Not your cup of tea but that’s ok. You should really stick to excel spreadsheets. That’s where you shine.

Leaving Jesper Bratt and Jack Hughes behind you as a dman is not smart.

Frankly he'd have been in a better spot to recieve a pass if he was further back. he's put himself on a line where Timo's Skates and stick block basically blocks the entire passing lane

Yeah, Getting so much flak at saying Xhekaj isn't that good last season yet now it seems like he wasright. He's honestly really good at those stats breakdowns and a lot of people owe him an apology.

My Kirby Dach and Mike Matheson criticism was also met with vitriol.

Oh is that where this nonsense is stemming from. I thought it was isolated to some weird Luke Hughes / Lane Hutson rivalry.

I would love to know why Hutson shouldn’t have joined the rush here and where he should be positioned on this frame and why.

Gibb has been put on the "hater" list rightly or wrongly. :dunno:

You might be put on that list soon too by the way.
I'm pretty sure I was put on that list when I argued loudly against the idea that Monahan was worth a 1st rounder last season because I thought he'd have a minimal impact in the playoffs. Then the Jets traded a 1st rounder for Monahan. Then Monahan had minimal impact in the playoffs.

That was fun.
