Landeskog returns. Avs loan him to AHL for conditioning stint

Haven't really read through the thread are canadians crying about cap shenanigans.

Glad Landy is back what a beast
Why single out Candians? I don't think it's only Canadians who have had issues with teams pulling the ol' "he's injured" cap shenanigans stuff. Maybe moreso with Stone in Vegas because it affected Oiler fans, but its not only Canadians who had an issue with Kucherov and Tampa doing it.

You are really damn preachy.

There’s no point to the nhl cap if teams can get around it in April. Full stop. The reason doesn’t matter.

I had a really tough time reading his posts

The erroneously disincentivized ramifications of the statement at hand when discussions around the facts and principles of our conundrum pierces the thin gray veil of King Solomon with his Jewish and Arabic abrahamic blood mixture stirring in his veins ….. capstones my argument against your assertion that any cap circumventation took place… mic drop bitches

So, how did your audition for The History Channel go? Must have been pretty great.

Hard to call this LTIR loophole....guy didn't sit out 3 years to get around cap to play in this year's playoffs, but either way.....didn't they keep cap space available anyway if he were to come back earlier in the year, even if they didn't think he could? I haven't followed closely enough.

Yah, let me write it at a sub 7th grade level for you. Your saying it’s cap circumvention while ignoring LTIR concerns shows your one-sided POV. Not good!

Kinda crazy how someone who hasn’t played since 2022 is working the system especially considering his team kept cap space for him his first year thinking he could come back.

RIAL cautioned us that Landeskog may not have the stamina to play in every PO game. But no, some people wanna say it’s cap circumvention. That’s stupid.

If Gabe plays in the playoffs that’s crazy to me.

If this was pre-season and start of regular season I’d wonder if he’d be good enough to play and if his body is up to speed. 3 years without the grind is a long time.

But throwing him right into the toughest part of the season? Oh boy.

Very cool story and I’m sure it’ll be uplifting for the group, but anyone crying about an unfair advantage just shut up. It’s not like he’s gonna jump in the top 6 full time and play 18 minutes a night.

Anyone whose immediate reaction to Gabe returning is "CIRCUMVENTION! CIRCUMVENTION!!" needs to remember what it was like to actually enjoy hockey and appreciate what players do to play the game we have the privilege of watching and whining about on a message board.
Yeah I got some odd looks for yelling this in line at Starbucks

Kinda crazy how many players come back just in time for game 1 of the playoffs.
I’d be willing to bet most of them aren’t truly 100% though. They rest for the rest of the season to try to get as healed as they can be for playoffs.

In this case, it’s not the same either because he missed 3 years and 95% of players in his position would just take a paycheque and enjoy retirement.

Doesn't take away from what i said. Cleary he is good enough to start game 1 ........

How is it “cap circumvention” to time a three year comeback now? Even if he could’ve played three weeks ago it’s not like another three weeks of rehab wouldn’t do the guy good. Gimme a break. This isn’t remotely like Stone, not that I have any problem with Vegas and Stone.

Stop blaming teams for taking advantage of something that’s clearly written into the rules. Blame your own team for not doing the most they can to be the best team they can be.

He was ineligible to come back earlier than that, and since it was very possible that he couldn't play this season at all, it wouldn't have made much sense for the Avs to commodate him in the regular season.

While this sometimes is questionable, I'd give Avs a pass considering Landeskog has been gone for 3 years and it's unknown whether he can even hang in the league anymore.
