Landeskog Practicing w/Team

He’s coming back.

One thing to consider. If his injury is healed, which it seems like it might be… this is a player who hasn’t taken a slash, a cross-checked, or a hit since the cup.

I’m not worried about him taking contact. This is one of the toughest players to ever don the burgundy and blue.

What I’m excited about is that this will be the healthiest he’s been since his early 20’s. No nagging injuries, except the big one and if that is healed, he could be a force.
Or he’s a 30 year old who hasn’t played in 2 years and never shakes off the rusty?

I've been saying that for basically two years now. All those little things that add up and constantly bother players as they age... those things should be non-existant for Gabe at this point.

He's gonna be a breath of fresh air. In more than one way.

And then some of our media take trips to Disneyworld right after the trade deadline.

I honestly can’t with these bums.
Wait... didn't you go to Disneyworld right after the trade deadline?

Cale is stronger minded than I am.

Accident or not, if I did that to my teammate and was a direct cause of them missing 3 years I'd think about it all the time. It would drive me insane.
Cale's got like literally 9 million reasons to continue on.

Beyond those, he's also always had Gabe in his corner. Landy never, ever would have blamed Makar. It was a freak accident and Gabriel might have been the only; player on the roster with the emotional IQ to realize that from the get go.

Loved when in one of the interviews after the Cup win they asked Gabe how other teams could emulate the Avs (or something like that) and his answer was go find yourself a Cale Makar

You can only feel remorse for the conscious decisions that you made. This doesn't fall into that category. Could he have realistically prevented the accident by acting differently, knowing there was a risk of that happening? No? There's your answer.

This is kinda funny, because remember EJ saying that, but Liles said last game MacKinnon said it. Maybe they all said it though because it's definitely true.

Nobody said anything about remorse.

You could be the most law abiding driver of all time and never break a single traffic law, always making sure you're aware of everything going on around you but if one day someone happened to jump in front of your vehicle and you killed them, it wouldn't exactly be easy to move on from.

Some things aren't black and white "oh I couldn't control it therefore let's move on."

They probably all did say some version of the same thing. They gave so many interviews to so many outlets and Makar was just on another planet that year

Edit: 100% Landeskog said it though. It’s at 10:42

Find the video angle, it was an uncalled crosscheck that sent Cale careening head first, skates up, into the boards. The one thing I always wondered was how this happened. It was an uncalled Blake Comeau crosscheck that should have minimally been called interference. That is why it caught Cale so off guard. With all the Gabe recovery coverage I finally saw an angle. For years I thought it was Faksa, but it was Comeau.
