If you are referring to this tweet, I don't think it's hockey related at all. "hoping hockey can bring us all together", I think you should read that as in the "real life" is looking like shit and the Avs are the escape route.

It could be anything from himself to someone he knows passing away, or receiving a bad medical diagnosis, or having marital problems, or losing their job, etc., etc. Might not have anything directly to do with the Avs.

I would never share something personal and serious like that even if I knew about it.
I get worried when guys just disappear without any mention of an injury and then Avs Mafia silences media from asking a single question about them.

I added Altitude just before the agreement with Channel 9/TV20 so I now see the pre and post games and extra features. The Altitude crew starting with Keefe are pretty sophomoric. They dialog with each other like they are a bunch of spoiled frat boys. Last night, Keefe is naming dive bars they should visit in St Louis when they are there this weekend.
I'm no prude but it's pretty unprofessional and sooner or later some boss is going to step in and move some new people in.

Much like the Avs, Altitude also plays down to their level of their opponents (DNVR).
When we had a respected "anchor" who had won accolades both for his on-ice play as well as for his off-ice calling of games and providing color, things we're okay. There were times where folks got burned out on the eternal optimisim.... but news flash... that wasn't actually Altitude... that was just Peter McNab's natural outlook and philosophy.
Losing him and doubling down on the "penis McNab" jokes and immaturaity has just decimated their broadcast quality. I actively seach out other team's broadcasts. I bet you, "Can't believe it!!!"
*sigh* I miss McNab.

One thing to consider. If his injury is healed, which it seems like it might be… this is a player who hasn’t taken a slash, a cross-checked, or a hit since the cup.
I’m not worried about him taking contact. This is one of the toughest players to ever don the burgundy and blue.
What I’m excited about is that this will be the healthiest he’s been since his early 20’s. No nagging injuries, except the big one and if that is healed, he could be a force.
