I'm happy with Darche - certainly better than some of the other options we were hearing about. It's really interesting if the owners are giving him total responsibility as a first time GM. Going back to the Botta post that Periferal posted way back, we were not in the room when the candidates were being interviewed, but Darche must have really impressed them. He doesn't have as extensive a resume as some of the other names out there, even some of the AGMs that may not have even been considered. As I've said before, hopefully the Tanner Jeannot trade wasn't his idea!
Two questions though. What role does this leave for Chris Lamoriello (the guy who discovered Hudson Fasching)? And if you hand the keys to a young guy, what can really go wrong?
