The players want their cake and to eat it too. They want all the big money and perks that come from playing in Toronto but want none of the criticism or pressure, it's ridiculous. Those players have showed very little investment in that team so the fans have every right to be upset. They demanded top dollar, they took short deals, they each have had their issues in the playoffs (I remember when Nylander gave up on a 50-50 puck completely because he didn't want to be hit), they choke away series leads, and they simply never get it done. It'd be one thing if the players were showing they cared by locking in long term, leaving it all on the ice, taking discounts on their contracts, but instead they always leave their fans disappointed with their effort.
