New York Islanders: Lamoriello Contract Not Renewed; John Collins Searching for Next GM

If we get Kevin Weekes I’m gonna be furious.

Poaching AGM on successful franchises is my wish.
I only want Weekes if he comes with someone like a Holland as an advisor type figure. I think my preference would be to have one of those Dinosaur types around for extra muscle, but have a younger guy building the team for the future

Maybe I am just feeling drunk off a Post-Lou glow-up.
lol I get it but I’m not a grass is greener guy.

Even if someone wanted to have the hardest slant against Lou as possible, I watched my team go from the best coaches they could get of Scott Gordon to Jack Cap to Doug Weight to Trotz, Lambert and Patrick Roy. Attracting an over seas player like Tsyplakov. Even John Collins into the fold. The most success I’ve seen as a fan. The best facilities in the league. All under Lou. Yes malkin and Ledecky but also under Lou.

Not saying I didn’t want to move on either but keeping an open mind that this could also be a downgrade too.

I could be swayed in that scenario.

I think some successful teams like Vegas or Colorado had good successors in McFarland and McCrimmon. Idk who those guys are that are out there right now but those types of guys are who I’d like.

Still such a wasted opportunity at the deadline thanks to Lou and ownership. Should have moved Lee, Palmieri and Pageau at the deadline, it was such a sellers market.
There's not as much of an appetite to take on longer contracts at the deadline, teams want more flexibility going into the new year.

BREAKING: Matt Martin has been named General Manager and President of Hockey Operations for the New York Islanders. Josh Bailey will oversee all Bridgeport operations as the farm organization transitions into a chain manufacturing facility. :sarcasm:
But in keeping up with the Lamoriello tradition, Bridgeport will install an MRP system instead of an ERP . . .
