Let’s stop pretending like half this group if not more wasn’t calling for kakko and chytils heads in the last two years. Let’s see what laf looks like in a year or two. Those guys still have a long way to go in their development
While this is true, it also means that the Rangers are basically shit out of luck.Let’s stop pretending like half this group if not more wasn’t calling for kakko and chytils heads in the last two years. Wish I could double like this. It frustrates me when we discuss that our team is slow and people bring up skating ability. f*** that, it's more about the decision-making. It looks slow when the breakout pass is not imminent, it goes to a forward gliding instead of skating etc.It doesn't hurt to add more speed but this team plays too slow.
Too many people standing still. We play one way and it's extremely dated hockey.
People trying to trade Laf like crazyI’m not sure how much more production you can ask from chytil playing third line and no PP time.
Kakko another one who is now on a top line and producing but gets no PP time. Their numbers will never be there until vets start moving out and PP1 opens up. That’s where everyone right down to the Mcdavids and Draisitils Panarins and Zibanejads of the world get most of their cookies.
But those kids are babies. Laf has a 19 goal season already at 20. I mean I’m not moving anyone before they hit 23. Kakko had basically a lost year last year. Now look at him. Same very well may happen with Laf
It's mostly fans of other teams who think they can buy him for low. Which is not the case, it was stated by LeBrun recently that Rangers have zero interest in doing that.People trying to trade Laf like crazy
We're never in motion or attacking as a unit.... and if we are, the puck is passed in the skates or 3 feet off.Wish I could double like this. I was wondering about Igor too. He was getting knocked around all game.Dreadful game. Devils dominated.
1. Are we sure Igor is okay?
2. How was that not interference on Laf in OT?
That’s it. Gotta be patient. Time is still on his side. Wish he would develop quicker but, here we are…Im sure Laf is feeling probably his lowest right now. Take it and mobilize it into something positive. Might take until the offseason, but use it to make yourself better
people forget very fast.Let’s stop pretending like half this group if not more wasn’t calling for kakko and chytils heads in the last two years. Let’s see what laf looks like in a year or two. Those guys still have a long way to go in their development
Yeah. I don’t hate the guy but he’s clearly not skating well. He should be getting his legs back in the AHL. I can’t imagine anyone claims him at this point.Sammy Blais was on the ice for 19 shot attempts against in 7:37 five on five.
Outsider here, there is a lot of finger pointing to various individuals but I see soemthing else. A team with a great goalie just needs to play the other team even and things should work out. This is a huge advantage usually. The problem: The Rangers don't play a lot of other teams even.
I am starting to think they just aren't very good. Lucked into some high draft picks, Panarin, Fox wanted to play in NY, Mika trade, drafting Igor should have left you with a much better team. I am kinda scratching my head. I thought they were one of the risers in the league, maybe not.
Not true, check the Laffy thread lol. Rangers fans trying to dump him for a mid-1stIt's mostly fans of other teams who think they can buy him for low. Which is not the case, it was stated by LeBrun recently that Rangers have zero interest in doing that.
So then don’t bring up his negative stats, or lack of points, eitherLaf's 19 goal season was a fluke. We don't need to constantly hear about it. He shot 20% at 5v5. He is not an all time great efficiency shooter. Can we focus on the actual plays he makes on the ice and not numbers with no context? There are 195 forwards who have taken at least 1,000 shots since 2010. Two of them are over 15%. Stamkos at 15.3 and Matthews at 15.0. Only 11/195 are even over 13%.
What are you talking about? Kakko, Chytil, Miller, and Schneider have all been playing very well. While this is true, it also means that the Rangers are basically shit out of luck.
Someone on here put it better than me recently, but if the kids (Laf and KK in particular) don't come on soon, then we basically don't have any cheap, depth scoring that makes us contenders and the current 'window' is basically closed. We've invested too much $$ and contract length to move our older players easily, so we can't do another quick rebuild, and if the kids don't come on the 'window' of them being in their prime never eventuates.
For both now and the future, the kids need to start figuring it out soon-ish and the Rangers need to understand what they do and don't have
Thanks for your post. This is seemingy the 1st NON-CRYING ASS post, I have read thus far.My God.
The relentless whining and fingerpointing is excessive.
And pathetic.
Maybe its like that here, after every loss.
If it was a night game, i would not spend my post-game time here.
They lost a close game, on the road, to a team with a strong record.
Giving back a multigoal lead is a team fault.
Shesty had clear sight, but Severson made the right shot.
Its behind me, i am ready for Zucc & co.
Enjoy crying in your beer, and assigning blame, if thats your thing.
100% agree thank youThank God I missed this one and the idiotic post game overreactions after getting 1 point instead of 2 and still being 11-2-2 in their last 15. Wait let me guess. 1) The team is too soft, 2) The team is too slow, 3) The team can't score, 4) Fire Gallant, 5) Trade Laf. Seriously some of you guys are nuts.
Kids playing well:What are you talking about? Kakko, Chytil, Miller, and Schneider have all been playing very well.
It was classic Rangers. 1) He was casual about it. Rangers like to play as if they have more time than they actually do. 2) He eschewed the sensible dump in. Rangers love pass back in transition even when the smart play is to simply move the puck forward into the corner.I still can’t get over that play Goodrow made on the first Devils goal. Beyond brain dead decision making.
This board becomes a joke after every loss. Absolutely no patience or context when it comes to the kids. Some geniuses last year were calling for Kakko and Chytil to be traded and worried about 20yo Scheider and 22yo Miller. How's that working out?Kids playing well:

Not gonna win a Cup. Not gonna get the right talent in here. Not gonna develop the talent we have drafted. It’s a lost cause. We're never in motion or attacking as a unit.... and if we are, the puck is passed in the skates or 3 feet off.
There's so much wrong with this team that can be improved..... and yet we're winning.
If just shows a complete lack of understanding on what makes an athlete successful. Players aren’t operating in a simulation where their attributes are graded. This board becomes a joke after every loss. Absolutely no patience or context when it comes to the kids.
