While this is true, it also means that the Rangers are basically shit out of luck.
Someone on here put it better than me recently, but if the kids (Laf and KK in particular) don't come on soon, then we basically don't have any cheap, depth scoring that makes us contenders and the current 'window' is basically closed. We've invested too much $$ and contract length to move our older players easily, so we can't do another quick rebuild, and if the kids don't come on the 'window' of them being in their prime never eventuates.
For both now and the future, the kids need to start figuring it out soon-ish and the Rangers need to understand what they do and don't have

It doesn't hurt to add more speed but this team plays too slow.

Too many people standing still. We play one way and it's extremely dated hockey.

Laf's 19 goal season was a fluke. We don't need to constantly hear about it. He shot 20% at 5v5. He is not an all time great efficiency shooter. Can we focus on the actual plays he makes on the ice and not numbers with no context? There are 195 forwards who have taken at least 1,000 shots since 2010. Two of them are over 15%. Stamkos at 15.3 and Matthews at 15.0. Only 11/195 are even over 13%.

I was wondering about Igor too. He was getting knocked around all game.
As for the OT collision I think it was borderline. Not enough for a call in OT. Maybe they call that in regulation. One could argue they were both responsible as well.

Im sure Laf is feeling probably his lowest right now. Take it and mobilize it into something positive. Might take until the offseason, but use it to make yourself better

people forget very fast.

This is the worst Laffy has looked in the NHL. People forget how good he looked in the Playoffs. He was the one driving that line with Chytil getting the goals IMO

Sammy Blais was on the ice for 19 shot attempts against in 7:37 five on five.

Yeah. I don’t hate the guy but he’s clearly not skating well. He should be getting his legs back in the AHL. I can’t imagine anyone claims him at this point.

Outsider here, there is a lot of finger pointing to various individuals but I see soemthing else. A team with a great goalie just needs to play the other team even and things should work out. This is a huge advantage usually. The problem: The Rangers don't play a lot of other teams even.
I am starting to think they just aren't very good. Lucked into some high draft picks, Panarin, Fox wanted to play in NY, Mika trade, drafting Igor should have left you with a much better team. I am kinda scratching my head. I thought they were one of the risers in the league, maybe not.

If you're an outsider here, kindly see your way out. No one cares about the opinion of a fan of another team about how much we suck. You said it nicely but it's borderline trolling.

Thanks for your post. This is seemingy the 1st NON-CRYING ASS post, I have read thus far.
My GF and I........ paused the game in between 2nd and 3rd and winning 3-1, to heat up some food. NHL network blacked out............THE screen, (in fear of, exactly what happened) I went to the "recorded" part and when I clicked on it......it gave me 3:35 left with the score tied. We missed all that unbelievable comeback, as I really thought we had this game.
Thing of it is, as much as I am really disappointed and PISSED off, of the "loss" of this game........just think about it, we were 14 BEHIND THEM, and now we are only 2. AND right in the thick of things.

Get OFF of the ledge already! They needed that win, more than we did. Think about that.

It was classic Rangers. 1) He was casual about it. Rangers like to play as if they have more time than they actually do. 2) He eschewed the sensible dump in. Rangers love pass back in transition even when the smart play is to simply move the puck forward into the corner.

If just shows a complete lack of understanding on what makes an athlete successful. Players aren’t operating in a simulation where their attributes are graded.

Mental health is a HUGE part of an athlete’s success. some of these kids are learning that side of being a pro, and it isn’t easy.
