McClellan will likely do marginally better. Probably just enough to keep the Wings from getting a high draft pick. It's all part of the plan, I'm sure.

The managers job is to prepare for the future. Was obvious a coaching change was needed last season. He let all the good coaches get hired up and then had no one to replace Lalonde with.

This is a terrible hire only because Detroit will start winning games and find themselves outside the top 5 picks at the draft. After waiting this long, It's not like they are making the playoffs. Moneypuck has them at a 1.4% of making the playoffs which honestly is a low bar to set 7 years into the rebuild. It smells like desperation from Yzerman.
