Speculation: LAK GM Search

Luc says he wants Hiller to stay because of his regular season results, so any potential GM will be told he won’t be able to bring in the coach he wants. What GM worth a shit would take a job if his hands are tied from day one? What other major decisions will be made for him before he even f***ing starts?
Imagine if Hiller was retained, and if the Kings clinched playoffs, fired immediately, only to be replaced by none other than Sutter lol

As burgerbin slowly, inexororably becomes our gm, i think its importantant to remember that he signed a player, malloux by name, that was convicted in a sweedish court of a sex crime. Burgerbin knew about the conviction prior to the signing so obviously common decency doesnt matter to the guy. One can only imagine what the rest of his life iis like with an amoral set of professional ethics like this
I dont hate Bergevin, I think he gets shit on by one of the toughest markets in the league. His teams have made it a lot deeper in the playoffs than most GMs. There's better candidates out there but I dont think he's the worst.

But what you just described, the Mailloux draft, is another reason why I wouldnt mind him. A GMs job should be building a team that wins hockey games. If other GMs undervalue a player because they're worried about the hurt feelings brigade, go get that player so long as he's legally allowed to play and isnt going to harm the locker room

Kontos also has accused the King org of abusing Kaliyev at some point....so there's that.

I don't hate him and i'm sure he's learned but there's noting inspiring about the job he did with MTL

Inherited a Carey Price team and after 3/4 of a decade he had no real prospects/developments of note and the following squad that he put his stamp on is nothing to write home about.

Dude took a picture of a woman giving him oral sex and was sharing it with his buddies. It's a sex crime.

Obviously you don't find that to be a problem, but chalking it up as "the hurt feelings brigade" is simply telling on yourself.

I knew there'd be somebody defending the pick... I figured it would be RMT but here we go.

Keep in mind Bergevin also wanted to trade for Voynov after he served his suspension...

Oh and there was also the time he was the Director of Player Personnel during the sexual abuse scandal involving the Blackhawks...

Anyone noticing a pattern yet?

The way I look at it, if the Kings are intent on keeping Hiller, then their next GM will be someone with close ties to the team now or Robitaille has close ties to from outside the team. A completely new GM with no ties will definitely not want to keep Hiller around.

Voynov paid his price and deserved another chance in the NHL. So no, I don’t see a pattern and I could give a shit about Bergevin.

Another good name, I know it's been thrown a round a little
Janko sounds fantastic.. and to me Dallas is a model organization esp the way they incorporate youth into the big club sooner rather than later.

And yet no NHL team gave him that 2nd chance. The Kings even put out a statement saying he wouldn't play for them cause you know domestic violence is a very serious thing.
Think the Kings learned their lesson since the league fined the team 100K when DL let Voynov practice after he was suspended.
