I actually kind of wonder if Brisson would work (unlike every other name mentioned he’s demonstrably good at his current job) but I don’t see why he’d want the pay cut & demotion

Brisson - unless he wants to make a lot less money I dont see why he'd become a GM..Also I hope Luc would want to get someone that isnt a Nepo this time around

Anyone In the organization is a fail, Blake disciples, same philosophy, style of play same development approach, Contradicts Lucs new voice outside. A caveat would be Yannetti, but he has zero experience and that why Futa would be perfect and Yannetti could be assistant Gm or
Mathieu Darche out of Tampa, but moving from a defense first and foremost philosophy to more balanced attack is key

1. Yannetti, Futa
2. Don't want to pine for anyone not available
3. Anyone who's not a hard no.
4. My list and why:
Bergevin - minus a very good year of Montreal having a playoff run, the team was extremely mediocre and never really addressed team needs. Also, I still find his drafting of Mailloux after he requested not to be drafted due to what he did in Sweden to be repugnant

Brisson - too much nepotism. And the last agent-turned-GM was Benning. It just doesn't seem to work. But of my "hard no" list, he's closest to a maybe.

Emerson - unimaginative promotion. He also frankly hasn't said anything insightful in interviews. That said, as the assistant GM, he may be the most likely

Glen Murray - again I see nothing interesting, inspiring, or creative with this pick. Also, all due respect, but I don't remember any thoughtful or intelligent conversations he's carried. Not to say he hasn't, but I've never come away feeling like I learned something.

Hextall - he was awful as a GM. He would be interesting though.

Holland - he has been exposed in a cap league.

Lamoriello - he's a dinosaur and stringent in his ways, not even to the benefit of his team.

What I will say from the get go - even if a hard no gets hired, I'm willing to support them and give them a chance. But if it's not Yannetti or Futa, I'd take an interesting pick over an uninspired retread.

#2 is to indicate who you think has done a good job to give an indication what type of GM you might like
Aside from the "hard no" I am not overly opinionated. And even then, I'll be happy to give them a chance.

In all honesty, it's hard to judge GMs, because we all work with different contexts. For example, would Bob Murray work? In Anaheim, he had a budget.

Even Bergevin in Montreal had different stakeholders.

Of course, I still don't like certain choices based on what I saw, but you never know. Lombardi once never had GM experience until he did. It's not about how you get there but what you do.

I didn't like Blake at all, either, but once it was determined he was going to get his shot, I was willing to give him a chance.
