They packaged the 50th with the 96th pick (a fourth rounder) to move up five spots. That's considered giving up a lot?
That 96th pick may turn out better than Faber you know. Haters gonna hate........

In this last draft yes, it was allot to give up.
Yawn, It all depends doesn't it. Who could we have dealt the pick to get in another deal? I mean if we are going to be purely speculative then there are other options to consider. What if he had been drafted by someone else? Who else could we have drafted? I mean like I said, I like Faber but having seen him play in person before a few times I am not so impressed with him that he was worth our doing anything more than waiting to see if he was available a couple picks later. We didn't and he is ours now at the cost of another pick in a very deep draft. Not the end of the world but worth mentioning imo. Oh and nobody "hates" Faber but there ya go. (not that you said anyone did)
Yanneti mentioned he traded up because they had a couple of guys that as long as one of them was still there he would take one of them, klevin went the pick before so he pulled the trigger for someone he wanted, and so far looks genius doing it
Anyone have an update on his play?
Very good freshman season. Would definitely be picked higher if the draft were done today under the old opt-in rules where NCAA players weren't picked until they were 18/19.
The Big Ten tournament starts tomorrow in South Bend and all the games are on Big Ten Network.
Nice! Last year with a draft simulation tool I was always looking to pick Faber in rounds 4 or 5. Was very pleased with the Kings selection. I would of been happy with either Brock or another NCAA physical defenseman Tyler Kleven, who was picked by Ottawa just before Brock. I think it will be great if Brock stays in college next season, and then turns pro.
