The way Faber neutralizes oncoming opponents and protects the puck is something to behold.

Minnesota up 1-0. Solid takeaway led to a 2-on-0 with a give-and-give-and-give-and-go.

Please sign, Brock. Your National Championship dream ain't happening. The bigger dream is to play in the NHL. Get started on your bigger dream.

Per Mayor:

One final note to pass along, Kings GM Rob Blake is on the road trip and Mayor’s Manor editor John Hoven reports Blake will be meeting with Faber on Sunday to gather his preliminary thoughts regarding what’s next in his career. Faber and the Minnesota Golden Gophers made it to the NCAA Frozen Four, yet they lost last Thursday night in the semifinals. Will he stay in school another year — where Minnesota would once again be considered a championship contender — or will he turn pro and join the Kings organization? Stay tuned.

I honestly don't mind if Brock stays one more year in Minnesota. I don't think it'll hurt his development, if he's as good as he's supposed to be he'll be good no matter where he plays next season. But if he does sign and go to the A that might really help the Reign's D in the playoffs. I'm okay with whatever decision he makes.

My guess is that he is resisting to signing and that is why Blake is out there to meet with him to try and sway him. If he was all-in for signing he’d have signed already.

Minnesota kid playing for the Gophers, might see the Kings RHD depth chart and feel like he doesn’t want to sign right now if he has no chance to play in the NHL next year. Like Zach Werenski has said before, most college kids would rather stay in college than play in the AHL.

With how well the Kings have developed defenseman in Ontario I am hoping he signs and plays the year there if he doesn’t make the team, if he were a forward maybe it’s a different story and you hope he returns to college. But he is also in a good place with a good coach and system if he stays at Minnesota.

With Michigan powerhouse losing Power, Johnson and Beniers....maybe Minnesota has that much of a better shot at a title. If Michigan had all those guys again next year, would be quite a team. I think Minnesota has a good crop coming in.

Good is an undersell. Cooley, Snuggerud, Chesley. Remains to be seen but may get Lucius back and younger Lucius could also come in.

It's always going to be a crap shoot on winning the NCAA tournament. Everyone knows how crazy the NCAA hoops tournament is, and basketball is a much less "upset" game than hockey. It is like winning four Game 7's in a row to win the hockey championships, crazy things can happen, hot goalie, awful game by a goalie, bad bounces etc. We likely never see a team again like this years Michigan team, and even they couldn't win the championship.

Even if everyone returns for Minnesota they will be one of the favorites but their odds of winning a championship are pretty small. But he may rather take that small chance and enjoy playing college hockey than the kind of crappy life an AHL player lives.

Yeah let's rush him like we've done every other player. Can't hurt him right?

Smart move.

At this point wouldn't be surprised if he just NCAA loopholed himself away from this org and their 500 RHD.

I wonder if this would somewhat increase the odds of Blake dealing him. Maybe Brock is soooo 'very Minnesota' and wants to sign with the Wild. Has he ever come out to LA? Then again, he may feel loyal to the team that drafted him and cared enough to trade up for him.

A sinking feeling. I have a feeling Brock's relationship with his sister and Minnesota ties, may have him just playing out his 4 years and signing with the Wild. Watch the video. He is all about family and his sister.
You can just get a feeling that she has asked him to stay there and play for the Wild, so her and family can stay close and she can see all of his games there. No, it's not a reach. He also seems like a standup guy and has lots of character, so I can also see him being loyal to the Kings...but not like he would be to his sister. Being that way, maybe he would ask the Kings to deal his rights to the Wild, so that the Kings can get something for him.

I just can't see Paige coming out to LA and watching him play. This family is 'so Minnesota' and tight.

Faber to Wild for #2 2022 and Jesper Wallstedt.
or
Faber to Wld for #1 2022 and LHD Carson Lambos
Just not feeling so good about this.

It is unfortunate, but we have enough RD in LA.

In my opinion he should be traded ASAP for equally talented young goalie.

Kings need to check goalie prospects for all NHL teams and make the best trade possible for Faber.

Teams in need of RD may not be able to refuse offer for Faber.

Faber to Wild for Jesper Wallstedt.

Its not the end of the world that he doesn't sign right away and I understand his decision not to given the insane amount RHD he'd have to climb over, but I think he would've seriously helped the Reign this year given that we basically took almost all their best defenseman and now that Doughty is done. It is what it is and given our depth we can afford to have him stay another year.

I do not think it will be enough for the best goalie prospect in the world (Wallstedt).

We will need to add one of our forward prospects (Chromiak or Pinelli) and goalie prospect as well.

I know it is overpayment, but to me it is the only way to get Wallstedt out of Minnesota.

That is why Kings need to check goalie prospects for all NHL teams and make the best trade possible for Faber.

Faber is 19, and he won’t be eligible to become a free agent until the summer of 2024.

I’d rather let him play in the World Championship, World Juniors, and be a leader on a team that should vie for a National championship next season.

Let him develop at a steady pace and use that time to assess all the other dmen on the roster and pipeline, and make some f***ing upgrades this summer.

This is a bit unfortunate, I think for a player like Faber leaving after the sophomore year is the best and most proven way to have NHL success and he would have gotten great development from the coaches in Ontario. If it's depth chart/playing time related it's to bad because if he were a similar caliber forward he might have been able to jump into the NHL lineup right away, but the Kings can't offer that to a defenseman.

But on the bright side, staying a year longer than what is right is not going to be as damaging as leaving a year early would have been.

Minnesota will be the pre-season #1 if the Faber and Knies return to school.
