Englund is a good 7th defenceman so I think he will get claimed.

He was a very good bottom pairing d-man in the first 25-ish games with the Kings. Safe enough defensively whilst bringing a big physical element on a consistent basis. He also stood up for his teammates and had the most fights in the league at that point if I remember correctly. Then the wheels came off and he has looked like just another stay at home d-men who isn't very good at defending ever since.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone put in a claim to add some toughness to their team, hoping for him to find his form again.

Someone might claim him over the toughness factor, but it's a lot more difficult to sacrifice one of the 6 D spots to a player for that purpose than it would be if he were a 4th line winger.

Pretty much nailed it

Was VERY good in his role till the turn of the year, then turned into arguably the worst dman in the NHL

physical and a very good skater, responsible if relatively worthless with the puck. Really like him as a #7 but he should absolutely NOT be an everyday guy. But of course the Kings are playing 5D chess so he's their #9 or whatever because we're the smartest team in the league
