Crazy game to see in person, goals from the get go and constant action. I thought for sure they were gonna blow it and let the Oilers tie it up. Enroth needs to play much more down the stretch, Sutter is riding Quick into the ground. Quick did make some pretty good saves though, despite letting in 4. Surprised they allowed Carter's goal with Lucic in front.

No, I think Quick is just coasting right now. Ever since we clinched he seems to lack the intensity and focus. Yeah, he will make some great saves here and there but that's his athleticism doing the work there. He's holding maybe 10-15% back. Just my opinion.

The Kings gap control was horrible tonight. Oilers entered the zone with speed whenever they wanted against whichever defensive pair was out there.

Doughty with a stupid penalty letting Edmonton back in the game.

Sutter was pretty quick to point that out in the post game presser.

Sounds like it was a good night for me to miss

...not totally though. I got to listen to the Sens blow it on the radio (lol at EK swinging his stick around in the middle of nowhere as per their announcing team!) and just a total circus as per usual for Kings and Oilers, sounded hilarious, Jon and Darryl were really funny.

Yeah. Not gonna **** on a win or anything, but it was so unsatisfying. lol

Sorry I missed the radio show. Jim and Nick don't mesh all that well for me. Would have liked to hear Jon and Darryl. (I miss Bob.) The fangirling over Hud-son Fasch-ing's name was funny, though.

Ryan clobbered a guy with about 3:30 to go in OT with the stick for the double minor to ensure the loss.

I really have no idea how that wasn't goalie interference on Lucic.

Lewis only scores in blowouts... lol

Great game.... the Scuderi/Schenn pairing on the PK is awesome!!!!

The Kings are going to need some scoring come playoffs... Defense isn't looking like it's going to win 1-0.

Dowder is great!!! Love him crashing into guys pissing them off. This team needs more sandpaper!!! Hits are good and all, but just give that little extra to piss guys off. Where the **** is Carcillo when you need him? Ok maybe that's a little far...

Edit: It wasn't pretty and it took a backup goalie, but slump busters don't need to be pretty. Just man up and get it done.

Let's say Nashville passes Chicago and Chicago ends up in the wild card spot, if we end up first in the Pacific we play the Hawks? I always get confused with this new playoff format.

I wonder if Hawks are better grilled or smoked.... :naughty:

Yes

The top two division winners play the wild card teams that finish 7th and 8th. The teams that finish 2nd and 3rd in each division will play each other.

So the way it is now, the Ducks would play the Sharks and the Blues would play the Blackhawks.

I mean, no real surprise on how tonight's game probably looked considering SJ coming up. It's pretty clear (look at drews minutes) how the organization feels about just staying healthy at this point. Sutter keeps saying all these things about playing the right way and such but I'm sure it's hard to keep focus and intensity up against teams that either are out of the playoff race and have a bunch of youth and guys fighting for jobs who want to test themselves vs. the best or teams that NEED the wins.

I expect the whole road to the playoffs to be ugly. I just hope our lack of intensity doesn't get like, Kopitar injured by Kesler or something.

Two things were pointed out, 1st was incidential contact. You could see Lucic was being pushed while trying to get out of the way on the first shot.He tripped right over the pad.
Second, the refs felt that the goalie had plenty of time to get up for the second attempt, instead of laying there like hes on the beach. You could tell he was just milking that play , waiting for the call and made no attempt to get up and reset.

Ok, so I wasn't far off. Thanks for clarifying.

I had to look at Drew's ice time after your comment.

23:37 haven't seen it that low in awhile! :amazed:

It's a win and I'll take it. Not happy about how they played though.

Kings could get the #1 seed still. The Kings were #1 points % for a few hours last week. :(

About all I could come up with is they don't want to encourage goalies to dive. If he had gotten up and tried to get back and wasn't able to, maybe they get the call.

Seriously, I know they're tired, but we may as well run with that theme if people are going to keep *****ing that we're somehow getting ref help again

Best possession team in the league by several percent, 3rd worst penaltiy differential, LOL HOLLYWOOD

****ing PVR didn't record the game for me. But we won and scored 6. So I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.
