Watching Williams get emotional during the tribute was tough.

Can someone post the link to both tribute videos or just embed the both tribute videos from last night here.
Work blocks the videos on Kings Insider but not the embedded videos on this board. Weird.

I think after all the years of the Kings sucking it, now that's he's seen two cups he's just enjoying his time in the booth as a fan. Not sure what else he has to gain in his career, seems like he's just to the point where he's said "**** it, gonna have fun", right or wrong.

Yep. After decades of suck (and Bob and Jim had to sit through EVERY sucky game, every sucky year - I could at least turn them off), if Jim wants to be more of a fan in the booth while the Kings are still in their heyday, fine with me. Bob and Jim have paid their dues.

My peeve with Jim is that when he gets upset, he starts talking more. He talks enough. Let me hear Bob or Nick for a while.

Minor nit though. Jim can be a fan. All good. Enjoy the ride.

Someone mentioned in the game thread Sutter should have called timeout to stop the Capitals' momentum. That's hard to do now with the ability to challenge plays now. He has to keep that timeout just in case something comes up.

The time was around 40 seconds when he had the chance to take the timeout. Anything under a minute is automatically reviewed, so he could've used it there and would not have to worry about screwing himself.

Worked out anyways in the end, so meh.

Oh, didn't realize it was that late in the game when you wanted him to use the timeout. Thought it was a lot earlier during Washington's 20 minute surge.

I haven't seen the actual video tributes posted yet, but here's what was broadcast, which cuts away from the video to show crowd and player reactions:

met him a few times when he would do his show from the sports book at the stratosphere, always willing to talk hockey and was about the only one after 99 left , always looked forward to the "BEST 15 MINUTES ON THE RADIO"

Yeah, but as others have said, Sutter kinda goes with the Phil Jackson approach of just letting things play out. He doesn't give an F about matchups in the regular season at this point. While other coaches are shortening their bench big time in the 3rd, he sends out our 3rd pairing and 3rd and 4th lines on schedule. He wants to see what his guys are made of because in the Playoffs, you're not going to get favorable matchups on demand. And you may as well do it now while it doesn't mean much. Also, Sutter has been making it a point to talk about being top 3 in the division. He wasn't focusing on winning the division. Sutter's a different breed, for sure.

I think the guys know that its a marathon not a sprint. That sounds cliche as **** but its true.

Thank you. I will look again when I get home for the actual video tributes.
Kings Vision where are you?

"let me put topics on the table!!!"

"let me put topics on the table!!!"

He was turning me into a Charger fan - then management fired him and I was gone too.

and where the hell is Oh-Taye Mesa anyway?!

You take it over!

I want to hear from someone with a speech impediment in Rancho Santa Margarita on this glorious Saturday!

Have I given you enough to talk about?

Poway! Is this thing working? Am I on?

Ask me a question! Where are you? Do you not love Sports? Do you not love Saturdays?

How about the ladies line? It's wide open and waiting for your call to talk puck!

As probably the only guy who broke his hand punching an inanimate object (not Scuderi) last month due to his DVR effing up the recording of the Caps game in Washington, last night's win was mighty nice.

Scuderi can't be logging those many minutes. I sit on the end where the visitors shoot twice...think I said Scuderi immediately before all three goals.

Sadly I think Doughty is the only player on the blueline who can actually play with Scuderi. It's a testament to how good Doughty is that he can carry lugs like him and McNabb throughout a game.

Which highlights the biggest problem with our D, right now. Doughty can play with ANYONE. SO he's the one that has to take on an anchor while our #2-#3 guys stick together. Instead of having a fantastic complimentary d-man (Muzzin, or like Bouwmeester) he's gotta play well in spite of someone instead of with someone.

"Show me your Lightning Bolt!"

"React to me Rancho Penasquitos"

"Good Night NOW!"

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'm not too worried about Scuderi. He has been getting very little time and minimal minutes throughout the season, and he probably has his confidence down a bit reticent of December 2011.

Sutter is trying to get him in game shape for the playoffs while still trying to boost his confidence. You can see how quickly Scuderi defers the puck to Doughty even when it may not be the best play. That's not a skill or endurance issue. That's mental.

I'm not expecting him to return to 2012 form. But I think some evaluations have been overstated.

agree, he's not a guy you really want to see out there for more than maybe 18 minutes, but I think he's done well all things considered. Too much TOI might be my biggest complaint. He did not do well on most of the goals against for Washington's 3rd period, but his game through 2 periods was fantastic in my eyes, really nice stick-work and solid puck movement for the most part.
