Don't think that is a worry. Even if Washington only plays .500 from here on out they will still get 109 points.
Kings are on pace for 111.
EDIT: Whoops, I see that was pointed out several other times.

So, if the Kings have home ice in the first round, these stats would seem to indicate that it might be BETTER to have the crossover come into play, and have the Kings play a Central team in the first round?
this guy over hereYou sort of equating Vinny's game as a reason why you are not too worried about Kopitar's contract. Vinny's last 70-point season was in 2009-2010, then he had a dramatic drop off. That was when he was 30 years old. I wouldn't take Vinny still being able to perform at an acceptable level in a 3C role as a reason to not worry about the Kopitar contract.
The Kings cannot afford to have Kopitar's career and production follow the same arc as that of Lecavalier.
The Kings need Kopitar to be a 70-point player for quite some time.
Back to the game, and the immediate future though. It's great to see the Kings firing on almost all cylinders. I still think Carter is a little banged up. It would be nice to pad the lead and see him get some additional time off to heal up. Kopitar, Carter, Lecavalier, Lewis/Shore looks pretty good down the middle heading into the playoffs.

What in the hell.
It wasn't even a full stylistic comparison, it was a reference to some skills that each player has that will likely age better than the running back style board play.
Step away from the Kopitar contract, it's not even relevant here.
The other poster said that Lecavalier's play causes him less concern regarding the Kopitar contract. I don't see that as being true at all, and I commented.
It was very clearly about aging with certain skills, and nothing to do with dollars and cents.
We're not playing this game in this thread.
I agree.
I think Richards and Brown's games rely alot more on physicality. VL has always had good hands and great board play. I think as one ages it obvious which one is more sustainable.
It is why I am not overly concerned by Kopitars deal.

Step away from being overly sensitive about it.
He talked about the contract that is all about term and cap hit. We are still allowed to respond are we not?
I'm not playing any games, I simply answered the comment that was posted in response to my earlier post.
it was more about the style of Brown and Richards vs Kopitar. I just re-read what I wrote and your response was not as much of a jump as I initially responded to
