Wasn't calling you out BTE, not at all.

Just the fact that someone else continues to bring up the potential Martinez trade as if it was some kind of unthinkable thing and refuses to acknowledge the vastly different circumstances the team was in about 14 months ago.

It's a fact that one of Muzzin, Voynov or AMart was going to have to be moved off the books for cap reasons, I think most agree it was not going to be Muzzin so it was going to be either VV or AMart, but some just find it preposterous to think it could have been Martinez.

In the end the decision was made on it's own when VV decided to beat up his girl and Mike Richards brought illegal drugs over the border and the Kings are in a good spot and everyone lives happily ever after.
I also remember somebody pointing out (forgot the poster) that the cirumstances were different than how you remember them.

Greene is part of this team as well. You never read his name. Probably too slow to spell.

I'll tell my grandkids about this. "The Kings scored 6 goals once."

The Kings had some great regular season teams in that era, just couldn't get over the hump in the playoffs...I remember the frustration of being placed in the same division as Montreal and all those Eastern teams but we really were on an island in those days.

I'm sure we logged the most miles travel wise than any other team in the league, and that had to take it's toll on the players.

Best of 5 in the early rounds didn't help either. Some good teams got knocked out because a goalie got hot for a few games.

Don't forget the 6 we dropped on New Jersey in the Cup clinching game in 2012.

Ironically, it was the only time all season long that the Kings scored more than 5 goals in a game.

hard to imagine that Carey "The Jesus Christ" Price
aka
Carey "The best player in the world" Price let in 6 goals in a single game

Didn't you get the memo, regular season is all that matters on HF boards.

Especially so when your team sucks in the postseason, or doesn't even make it all.

With a win tonight, the Kings can match the largest divisional point lead in their history.

February 2, 1981.

All season long--"OMG he carries the team, does it all on his own, best player in the world."

In the playoffs--"OMG team let him down, you can't blame him for the team's failures."

A) Carey Price
B) P. K. Subban
C) Max Pacioretty
D) All Of The Above

I'm a Lundquist apologist. I'm sorry that his only chance at winning a title ended with us stomping on his neck.

:)

He's obviously a fantastic goaltender and his legacy will be a great one--one of the most consistently awesome goalies in an era where many goalies spike and bust, very few have done what he's done with longevity, and he's done it on good teams and bad. I just don't like fans deifying him as infallible when he's clearly mortal as we made him look...to the extent that he 'outplayed Quick.' If that's the narrative one wants to run with fine, but it invalidates all the previous arguments about save percentage being the only evaluation of goaltending prowess, because in those finals, Quick smashed on Hank in that stat. I just hate shifting narratives (not evolving, mind you--shifting. moving the goalposts).
