I thought Pearson had a pretty good game too. it finally looks like he's getting some of his speed back :handclap:

I thought this was Pearson's best game of the season.

Brown has looked much better than last year so far.

I like McNabb playing with Drew. They seem good together and it helps balance the rest of the pairings.

Our Powerplay is still terrible. Park Lucic in front of the net and have Carter, Kopitar, Erhoff and Drew riffle puck low at the net

Oh forgot to talk about this love for Forbort I will agree i like his play so far but its been very limited and not playing any hard mins (pk) 9mins 45 secs is not a lot to really judge him by Needs to play more before a true judgement can be had

Oh our pp needs something not sure what Is bernie still available to help it?

I typically judge 3rd line D men but how visable they are in a bad way. I want to think after the game, was Forbort even playing? this means he wasn't f***ing up

granted i don't remember much of his less then 10 mins but less then 1o mins is not enough to judge a person imo especially a defenseman imo

Bernie Sanders?

Let's put it this way, in Greene's 11+ minutes a game he's played in his 3 games this season, he's been a gong show and completely noticeable in a bad way. In a minute less a game, Forbort hasn't had a negative impact. Also, not having Greene in the lineup means more PK time for McNabb with Doughty and that pairing his been pretty darn good on the PK considering the massive minutes they're putting in on it.

think maybe Greene being injury might have a huge part of him being a gong show? something to think about Seriously Greene has given his heart and soul to this team He will be back in when hes healed Yes him out give other players a chance to step up However if your think to replace greene with forbert this year its not happening imo

I watched Greene all last year be bad. 82 games worth. That's who he is now. Yes, he's a respected vet and Sutter loves him and I'm grateful for his 2012 and 2014 contributions, but there isn't any kind of metric out there that shows Greene was any good at all, not last season and not this season. He simply cannot keep up anymore and his physicality is only putting him in the penalty box now. And just because Sutter plays him, doesn't mean he's doing the right thing either. Benching McNabb in favor of Greene at the end of last season was a mistake.

wait a min here your adding in things i never said anything about. Greene has shown he can play over his carrer and being injured will get the benefit of the doubt . However i have not said one one till now about McNabb I am only talking greene over forbort Lets not add in anything else please Greene healthy plays over Forbort for now

so have other players who have regressed less than greene and have been gone for a while. No doubt that Greene will get back in, but hopefully not till he is 100%..no need to rush a 6rth d-man

who are you talking about ? I am having a discussion about Greene over a rookie that has taking a long time to get here. He should be polished by this time. He has given nothing to this team yet. For someone playing a avg of 10 mins hes getting more praise then deserve imo I have a lot of hope for him believe me however until hes playing more mins hes still getting his feet wet. I am happy to see this but He hasn't earned a regular shift yet imo Greene being injured is why he sucks. I do agree no need to rush him back at all but also no reason to over praise forbort as well

It's context. Greene undeservedly played over McNabb last season when Marty came back from injury. McNabb was playing great, but Greene, being the vet got the benefit of the doubt over the rookie and that was a mistake in hindsight. Hell, we all saw it when it was happening so it's not even hindsight. I'm sure that Sutter will re-insert Greene back into the lineup for the same exact reasoning he kept him in over McNabb last season. I haven't seen good hockey from Greene in quite awhile and I have a feeling the defense is going to suffer when he's in there again. He was "healthy" for 82 games last season. He wasn't good because he's not good anymore.

Marty has paired well with Muzzin and if Sutter breaks that pairing up just to give Greene a familiar partner, then here we go again. Pairing Marty with Regehr and Greene last season was a bust. Forbort has a better future (and I think present) with the Kings than Greene does. He's been nondescript paired with Ehrhoff and that's a good thing. Forbort's been seasoned in the pipeline for years now. He's ready, otherwise they would've sent him down and kept Schultz up. I don't have a lot of faith that Greene at his age and physical condition is going to have some late season 2014 resurgence. Remember, Greene was scratched a lot in 2014 in favor of Regehr. It wasn't until Regehr got injured did Greene get back in the lineup.

Stoll, Richards, Scuderi all came to mind when talking about players who have given their heart and sole to the kings but are no longer with the club...my point was that it doesn't matter to me what the player has done in the past, if they are not playing well they should not be playing.
If that is due to an injury or whatever I do not care. Sutter needs to ice the best line up each game.
I am not over praising Forbort, but more under praising Greene. I have been critical of Greene for a few years feeling like he is slowly loosing his place not only on the club but in the NHL. that does not take away everything he has meant to the club.

NOt that I want to pump Greene's tires but he is lucky for one major thing right now: he's a RHD. That alone might buy him enough time to get his shit together post-injuries and continue to be servicable. He was never a great skater, but now he's chasing people around, and that's bad for his game because at best he'll simply be out of position, at worst he'll be taking a penalty or getting scored on. I think that's rust more than straight-up suckiness though, but I like him more than most do.

Forbort pleasantly surprised me with his willingness to be physical even if he's a big pillow. He at least initiated contact, unlike schultz, who was content to let people casually ease into his warm embraces.

Agreed that on paper, Muzzin-Martinez is a pretty beastly second pairing, especially if Ehrhoff can keep his scrambled egg brain in the game and either Forbort or Greene can help.

McNabb has seemed to play BETTER with bigger and more important minutes, hope he can keep the focus up. Still makes some mistakes but hell he hasn't centered the puck to anyone like Muzzin used to (yet) :sarcasm: I see a lot of similarities in their games

Your context is side tracking the discussion into something im not commenting to nor will I am only discussing Forbort vs Greene I agree Forbert will hopefully be better then greene in the future However right now hes not earned the ice time over Greene If your going to compare this situation its like Slava replacing JJ Slava had to go back to the ahl a couple of times before he got the spot. We have the luxury of sending forbort back and forth to the ahl that exact same way and with it so close he can play both and get more ice time in ahl which he needs to develop fully. In short when forbort deserves his spot i have no issue with him replacing Greene he hasn't earned that yet to me. He needs to show he can play more mins Greene has played 20 mins a game as recent as last year Untill forbort show he can play at least 15 hes not a replacement for greene yet

Well as i pointed out in the last post I was talking greene vs a rookie Forbort Talking about the other is side tracking my conversation into a convo not ment to be had. Like it or not Sutter is going to trust someone hes seen do things in the past over a rookie like forbort Hes not earned the ice time. Sutter has not ice the best lineup ever imo He ices the lineup he thinks will win Big difference to me I never said you in particular were Yp44 others are.

I get that but saying Greene has put his heart and sole into the kings should not have any bearing in Forbort vs Greene IMO. Whomever is playing better should get dressed.

I agree that Forbort needs to earn Sutter's trust but I think he has at least started to do that.

I sorta agree it shouldn't in a pure world However in the real world loyalty has its place and right or wrong Sutter is going to be loyal to a vet or rookie like it or not that is what happens 10 out of 10 times till that rookie plays his way on the team Yes he is starting to not saying he isn't just more is needed to get the spot is what im saying. and until he shows he can play more mins he won't get that spot imo
