Can anyone explain that last call on Shore? We only got to see it on the scoreboard, we didn't see anything live, and the scoreboard must have missed it because we didn't see anything there either.

Pretty dominating for most of that game. There were a few times where it took Colorado a couple minutes just to get the puck out of their zone.

Interference.

Yea we saw the announcement, but it looked like Shore was grabbed, not the other way around. Figured there was something before it.

Is that the play where Shore slashed the stick out of the defender's hands, forcing the defender to clutch and grab?

It's not easy being the world's most wanted user. I'll write an autobiography one day - Privilegeless - The Reclamation Project Story

--Forbort > Greeene so far
--Andreoff was flying in the first...was bummed for the misconduct.. something to build on at least
--Toffoli... Different situation (even strength) but: Same Period / Same part of the net.

--just had a thought that the whole 70's line could have ALL changed their numbers to a number they had growing up before the season started... I actually woulda preferred if this happened:
--TOFFOLI --> 26 (worn in manchester / his junior number 16 is obvioulsy off limits... voynov left)
--CARTER --> 7 (sault st. marie / columbus) or even 17 when it freed up after ethan moreau left.
--PEARSON --> 14 (his number his whole life...justin williams)

i bet that pearson wanted 14 bad but "that 70's line phenomenon" sort of killed that dream... Wonder if any other players in this league decided to keep their development camp number as their permanent number other than Pearson and Toffoli.

The way Pearson is playing he may never get a sniff at that line again. Besides, Lucic is fitting in nicely there. The Kings have their lines set at this point.

I missed the third, of course. Damn homework :( But I liked what I saw for the most part before that. Need to stop letting teams hang around but I've been saying that since 2012 so meh. I wish Andreoff stayed in the game because the 4th line was buzzing with him but I'm actually happy he fought McLeod because if he didn't that clown would have done something stupid to someone else instead. McLeod was probably right to be mad because Nolan ended up fighting Skille, but Skille picked that fight, so whatevs.

Quick is tracking the puck extremely well. I feel like some shots tonight would have gone in on him the first few games. He didn't have to LOOK spectacular often, but he made some very good saves on some VERY Good shooters through traffic, and it can't be easy when you go cold for minutes at a time only to face a glut of high-first-round-picks bearing down on you out of nowhere.

Have some other comments but not going to complain, just going to enjoy a solid performance that we finished even despite trying to toy with the hockey gods and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!

Mark Scheifele did keeping #55 as his permanent number.

he had a great game?

Kings were 5-15 when scoring 2 goals last season. But they were 21-4 when scoring 4 or more goals. If you consider our defense is treading water at the moment, Kings need to start scoring more goals to win, unless McNabb/Forbort/Ehrhoff are equivalent replacements for Voynov/Mitchell/Regher.

It would be something if the Kings' record when scoring 4 or more goals would be worse compared to scoring 2 goals.

This sounds like Johnny Gaudreau never scored a GWG in a Flames' loss.

Dwight King, Jordan Nolan?

Dwight King, Jordan Nolan?

Can't speak for Pearson/King/Nolan, but I am 100% positive I remember that Toffoli stuck with 73 because of the cup win.

He said something to the effect of he had won the cup wearing 73 and you can't just change it after that.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if that was the motivation behind all four keeping their 70s numbers (being we all know how the year ended when each pair broke through).

Missed the game due to traveling, but landed in time to hear the post game. Sounded like Kopitar was a beast on the dot.

A caller asked Nick Nickson about Kopitar needing to shoot more, and all Nick could do was pump Kopitar's tires. He had one shot on goal last night. At least Daryl Evans called a spade a spade and admitted that everyone in the organization tells Kopitar to shoot more. His low shot, and therefore goal, production isn't a system issue, it's a Kopitar issue. He better pick it up, because this team isn't going to keep winning games 2-1.

In contrast, Carter had 6 shots on goal last night.

That's exactly why they kept the numbers. I remember reading/hearing it in interviews. I don't think they're keeping those numbers because of some catchy line name. That would be silly. It's because historically, they won Cups with those numbers and who wants to watch highlights and replays of Cup wins with different numbers on your jersey?

I heard the postgame too on the drive home. Evans said that Kopitar actually admitted to him that he knew he had to shoot more. (!)

My mouth dropped open. But then I realized he's been playing pro hockey for 10 years and he certainly isn't going to become Phil Kessel overnight. He doesn't have a selfish bone in his body and he is going to look to pass every time; it's just his nature.

Reminds me of a kid I played basketball with. Same mentality. Looked to pass every time, and was a great assist guy, no doubt about it. But he passed up high percentage shots just to make that extra pass, to the point of the rest of us demanding he take that shot when he had it.

To be fair, Kopitar is tied with Toffoli for 3rd in shots among forwards with 12, and is only 1 behind Carter. He was 2nd overall on the team in shots before last night.

He's been much better so far this year, lets hope he keeps it up.

4th line played well in the first period or so then really didn't play a whole lot after that. Shore needs to move down a line sorry. Hes taking to many offensive zone penalties I did however see him making a couple of offensive zone plays for the first time this year so there is some good last game.
