Baldy/Perry both going to the box... Kings got physical and in their faces. Schenn is my favorite King right now. Baldy went down after Schenn landed one punch. Not much he could do. It's always disappointing when you realize your opponent is done after 1 punch. It's like you get all worked up and then you're just standing there holding... nvm...

I agree with everything you said but Schenn is a nightmare on the ice. Best thing he did for the Kings so far was get Getzlaf off the ice for 5 minutes but in the Calgary game he was responsible for 2 goals, against the Ducks he was clearly responsible for the lone goal, against Dallas he was clearly responsible for 1 (I'd argue 2 but some wouldn't so i'll just say 1). The guy is absolutely a liability on the ice, he's a hockey illiterate version of Matt Greene.

Now for the positive, at least he beats the crap out of people and I can see a combo of getting smacked around by Schenn/Mcnabb in a 7 game series to be an annoying and painful factor for whoever the opponent may be. Plus Heyward was crying, he may have started bleeding between his legs during that fight.

I needed some alone time after that win. :)

How is Schenn your favorite king right now? When LA acquired him I was very pumped and thought he would be a steal and fit right into Sutter's system.

He gets lost defensively and hesitates offensively. Best thing he has done as a king was get Getlaf to serve 5 minutes.

At time of deal I could not wait to tell everyone I told you so when he became and anchor (in a good way) on the back end. However I feel like the nay sayers were more right than I.

I want to think they'll go back to McNabb/Schenn on that bottom pairing for the playoffs, and I thought that was a great 3rd pairing - despite everything I would have imagined from those two on the ice together, they looked pretty damn good in my eyes. Felt like they fed off each other's physical play and were able to slow the game down into a grindfest on the boards during their shifts.

If the game is a blowout and LA needs to send a message for the next game then yes put those two out there. With Andreoff and clifford

I am surprised no one is talking about the fourth line! AA, Cliffy, and Steeg have been awesome the past few games. So much energy out there and getting goals. I hope Sutter keeps them in tact for the playoffs. Once Gaborik comes back and plays with Vinny, we have solid four lines.

Fourth line was awesome last night I concur

Andreoff, Clifford and Versteeg is "that 3rd line" that every Cup-winning team needs for playoff success. It was amazing to see it gel last night. Missing piece of the puzzle for sure.

Loved the effort overall (I guess the Kings can flip a switch when they want), although I'd rather see the Kings play San Jose in Round 1. Maybe the Kings plan was to beat ANA to scare them and then crap the bed vs. Winnipeg. ;)

And they were seeing the ice quite a bit against Getzlaf's line. I hope they play with the same energy in the playoffs and Andreoff continues to get better at winning faceoffs and covering the middle of the ice.

Early in his career he had major issues in both areas and was a complete liability as a center, lately he's seemed to be switched between playing center and wing but being in the lineup regularly seems to have given him more confidence in his game, and it shows.

He's certainly outperformed Nick Shore, who is probably the biggest disappointment for me this season alongside Dustin Brown. I was hoping to see more from Shore but he hasn't really done much to pin down a spot in the lineup.

Being first or second place doesn't matter, but beating the Ducks to end the season was a nice moral victory. I wouldn't mind Sutter resting the big boys tomorrow to avoid an injury, even if it means losing the first spot. That said, based on recent interviews, the Kings players really want that division title. Let's see what happens I guess.

biggest change I want in the NHL is to go to a 3-2-1 point system. 3 points for regulation win, 2 points for OT/SO win, 1 point for OT/SO loss.

Why some games currently have 3 points on the line and other games are worth 2 is bogus.

Then again I wish the league still had ties after OT and no loser point. The above just seems like the lesser of the evil that is the loser point

Ducks would be tied with the Kings if it was a 3-2-1 point system. Kings have won 13 games in OT. Ducks have only won 7 I believe.

Kings record would be 35-13-5-28 for 136 points.
Ducks record would be 37-7-11-25 for 136 points.

I think the current system probably works better for you....

Dustin Brown played like a mad man last night. It was nice to see him take some vicious runs at the Ducks players. If they play in the play offs the Kings still need Kopitar to chip in some goals, if Keslar out scores him it will be a problem.

Best part of beating rival teams is their butt hurt fans calling us bandwangers and claiming the Kings are killing hockey in their GDTs. Never gets old.

Meh, it makes little difference between those two teams for this year, it's essentially a dead heat anyways. It would definitely separate a lot of the bubble teams who rely on getting to OT to hold their position.

I think the biggest effect would be on the trade deadline and draft order. It would be very clear who the buyers and sellers are. For example, the East would already be set as the Flyers would be well back of both Boston and Detroit. A far as draft order Buffalo would be in front of Carolina whereas now they are 4 slots below them.

Of course, discussing current standings isn't perfectly comparable as teams would play much different if there were more points given for regulation wins vs. OT.

Versteeg has been great, he can play just as well on the 1st line as he can on the 4th. Andreoff has also been awesome, feels like his improvement came out of nowhere, one day he's scratched, next day he's scoring goals, generating chances, and making plays Shore never has.
And it's nice we have Dowd who can take someones place in case of injury.
I hope Gaborik comes back soon, we'll have an incredible lineup of forwards when he does.

Congrats on the win guys. I have an odd question. Did any of you record the pregame of your broadcast? I was on it with my girlfriend and was just hoping for a screen grab.

Absolutely do not miss shore when he is scratched.
Especially with the steady emergence of AA. That whole line looked like they had a sense of urgency and energy that is necessary for the playoffs.

Yup, Shore is redundant with Lewis in the lineup. AA has pretty much guaranteed himself a roster spot for the playoffs, and deservedly so. Would rather see Dowd in the lineup over Shore, but neither of those guys have a spot when Gabbo comes back. I really hope Gravel can stay up, even if he is a rookie.

I have the pre-game show. I can take a photo with my tablet. (Best I can do.) PM me if you haven't already gotten some help.

Schenn is physically imposing. He's constantly leveling guys. He fought Baldy. More importantly Schenn ****ed with Baldy enough to get him to drop the gloves. The Ducks are fake tough with Baldy/Perry/Kesler... Kings need guys to go after them and get them taking penalties from trying to be tough.

**** happens on D and sometimes you give up a chance. Sometimes that chance goes in. Maybe that chance is caused by a defender being bad (Ehrhoff), maybe it's caused by a McBain, maybe it's caused by a brain fart (Muzzin). Of all the ways to give up a chance having a D out there, that is beating the crap out of and wearing down the opposing team is acceptable. Sure it doesn't really pay off too much in the regular season, but it can have devastating effects in a 7 game series.

If you're going to put Scuderi/McBain out there they'll make mistakes. Would you rather have Schenn out there making mistakes like Scuderi/McBain and punishing the other team?

This is what gives rise to the knuckle dragging style of hockey that accusers say "killed Hockey". :)
I find it very entertaining.
