I don't think he's lost anything on his shot, I think the Preds are just incredible hard to play against for him. They smother the puck carrier like crazy. He just can't get a dangerous shot off before a stick gets in the lane. Still racking up assists off rebounds though.

Funny that you show up after completely ducking out of the last conversation where people were calling you out. I'll defend him from trolls like you that think assists don't count.

I was being called out for the exact same thing you mentioned here haha. You haven’t liked his play at all and yet you defended him to the tee because “look at his assist totals he’s playing well”. You end up looking like a damn fool lol. I’m a troll because I stated exactly what you were thinking lol...

I ducked out of nothing by the way, just some excuses being made by Jets fans on how the kid is playing well when that isn’t the case at all. I’ll give Scheif credit, man had a great series and without that this Laine stuff would be much worse and under the microscope.

Oh please. Atleast stand by your own trolling.

You just went on and on that Laine's assists don't count. They don't count. They. Don't. Count.

Laine is currently 5th on his own team in points in these Playoffs

Laine isn't even the best winger on his own team

Ovechkin's career Playoff point finishes relative to his teammates:

2007-08: 1st
2008-09: 1st
2009-10: 1st
2010-11: 1st
2011-12: 1st
2012-13: 9th with 2 points, first round loss where nobody on the team put up more than 4
2014-15: 1st
2015-16: 1st
2016-17: 5th
2017-18(so far): 1st

I never said they don’t count, I simply said the man is lauded for goal scoring and assist totals ie playmaking isn’t his game. The narrative was “hey look at his assist totals how can he be struggling” the reality is Laine is suppose to be a goal scorer and had one goal all series and ever since Game 3 of the Wild series hasn't been much of a factor at all.

He also didn't make the playoffs until he was 22 years old. Laine has 3 seasons until then. He's not a driver yet but he will be.

Naaaaah not rehashing the exact same crap with you again.

If you can't believe that a person can play good yet under their potential, then there's no where to take this. I don't want to have to go through "ALL HIS POINTS ARE SECONDARY ASSISTS!" again.

Nah. You called all his points secondary assist and any time anyone brought up that he was close to a PPG, you just fell on the sword of "ONLY 1 GOAL LOL QQQQQ!"

With honorable mentions to Stastny, Buff and Helle as well.
Morrissey, Trouba, Connor, Myers, Wheeler, Laine, Ehlers, Lowry, Copp, Tanev, Armia, Little, there is not one weak link with the exception of Enstrom who makes strange decisions at times. This is the beauty of this run. Everyone is important and playing well.

Laine seems to be turning his upper body, in slo-motion lately........injury?

I think he might be. He does seem slower than when he was on his goal run. He's close to the top 10 right now in playoff shots so he's getting it to the net. An injury could be the reason for his drop in shooting %

My guy has 10 points in 12 games in his first every playoff run and he's not even looking like his usual self. What a BEAST.

I've been wondering if he's hurt for a few games now. He can't seem to turn like you said, whatever it might be might be affecting his skating - or being able to pivot/stop and try to go back. If he loses a puck battle he doesn't seem to be able to stop or pivot, just reaction hack to the guy he lost the puck to.

A lot of comparison have made between Ovechkin and Laine and it many thought that Jets won't be going far because it's built in the same way as Washington that haven't been able to do anything during Ovechkin's time. Now Jets with Laine are already in the WCF and have a great shot at the cup. Does this change the thought that you can't build winner team with the franchise winger?

In these playoffs Laine is 8th on the team for ice time and 4th among forwards.

The team is hardly built around him
