Mason's had very little to feel good about this year so it's great he gets the so.

Laine is a freak of nature.

Has Big Ben Chiarot officially turned a corner? He's been good for a long stretch. I know the competition has been weaker lately but still. I don't mind Morrow at all for what he is.

This is the best season I've ever seen Buff play although I wasn't really invested in Jets 2.0 until their third year back. He's been worth every penny of his deal. JoMo continues to show he will put up some points consistently.

Scheif obviously sucks but I'm not nearly as worried about it as the first time he went down.

MSG plays great music.

I'm actually starting to wonder if Laine can win the Rocket this season :amazed:

Good game by Mason as well :handclap:

What's your excuse?
We now go live to Patrick Laine walking back to the Winnipeg Jets' hotel:

Imo Buff /Morrissey pairing is one of the best in the league atm , that being said I would be happy to get the healthy pairings back going into the playoffs, as a side I think Chariot has been anything but a tire fire, he isn't making as many mistakes and has confidence in his game.

I really like the way Chiarot is playing, and he's getting better every game. He's very patient with the puck in the defensive zone, and he's also very physical.

I also like the way he's looking a lot more confident and carrying the puck a lot more this year, and letting some "big time" shots go from the back end. He's looking mighty good, and maybe good to replace Enstrom next year, and save us $ 5 mil per year on the Cap hit.

I do think Chiarot has been "very underrated" on these boards for quite some time, and he's still has a lot of upside in him. Also in the playoffs, we're going to need a bigger tougher type of defenseman when the going gets tough--Ben has a lot of Grit !!!

Nice to have this depth on our left side Defense.

I think we can all agree Scheifele needs new blades and he needs to become more aware of were his is on the ice especially when teams are targeting him.

Lately Scheifele has reminded me of the Scheifele from a couple of years ago when EVERYBODY in the hockey world sees the big hit coming except him. I really hope his shoulder isn't too messed up.

I'm not sure if Chiarot has been that underrated in previous seasons, but I agree that he's been quite effective this season. Lately, I think his play has been superior to Kulikov and Myers, in a more sheltered role.

Agree that he is playing better and the game seems to be slowing down for him.
In the greatest of ironies, there was a point in the third period when we were hemmed in and I yelled through the TV to Chiarot, "Ice the puck!" At which point he calmly made an outlet pass to clear the zone.

Teaching point: 1)Play Chiarot 2) Bench scelaton.

If Scheifele is out for any games I really would like to see Little jump up with Wheels to see if we can get him going. Pull up Copp with Roslo and Perreault. It is a good chance to try and get something going aside from just Laine and his line. But clearly that wont happen we will move Wheels to centre, and line 1 will be a defensive liability, and the Little line will remain cold offensive wise

I know a lot of you can't sleep until I post the Scorsi/adjCorsi/xGF chart - which must suck since I only do it every few games or so, and usually the next day sometime. Anyway a rare adjCorsi win but xGF loss: adjCorsi 54.49%, xGF 44.50%. Weird...

Big win for Mase - hope he keeps it up and just slams the door shut for all his remaining starts.

xGF% > 502873.77613473+61

xGF% < 5012106.53689101-12

It's been 4 games since I last posted. The Jets have only won both xGF and Corsi once in those 4 games. But they're 3-1-0 in Scorsi, so that's nice to pick up those points in ugly-ish wins. Get well soon Enstrom Trouba, and Lowry!

Tonight was the 4th Jets hat trick of the season.

Also mods.....isn't it time to resurrect the Hatrik Laine thread title in the other thread?
