As for your hockey knowledge, the fact body contact and fighting in the NHL terrifies you so much, I'm guessing you've probably never even laced up a pair of skates let alone played an organized game of hockey. You should probably stick to something more your speed like Ringette, Figure Skating or Badminton. Hockey seems a little too rough for your delicate sensibilities.

Players just shut off they dont care about a screaming coach after a while. I would pick the most gulity player.Turn him around and demand eye contact and say what is suited for that one player. Calm eye contact is the most efective. Some just need confidence, and anger would just make matters worse or do nothing at all. Some need anger to get through to.

Actions speak louder always. Benching , take of lines, less shifts, line changes, change goalie. But only if it makes the players better , not if it mess to much with the confidence.

It is a new system and they will go back to old habits, now and then. Takes some time to iron out.

I don't think Benoit has been good. It's a sheltered third pair in terms of competition so it's natural that he won't have that many goals against. I wouldn't mind sitting him for a game to see if Myers shows something.

Literally let both Marner and Tavares walk in the off-season. That’s the only way this core is going to change. It’s been years of this crap, not just 8 games. I have extreme doubts that this will look different come playoff time.

Literally my only hope for this joke of a franchise. But them being such a joke means that they won't do this and will happily overpay to keep them both here instead and keep running it back expecting a miracle to change something

I really hope we start to see some of the accountability we heard so much about when Berube was hired.

Yelling at Matthews doesn't mean squat. Benching the top line for the final few minutes of the game hardly counts either. Unless Marner is scratched against the Bruins tomorrow I'm not buying it.

Ten percent of the season is over and the team now has a WORSE record than after the same number of games last year under Keefe.

But for some reason Berube keeps trotting out the exact same lineup as Keefe would. Despite Matthews and, Marner especially, stinking the place up. Even the whole "cute" comment reeks of pulling punches like Keefe would when it came to addressing the team in the media.

I'm not even sure what system they're trying to run on the penalty kill anymore.

It doesn't look like the players know either. The world's most expensive power play is just as bad. Everything is all higgledy piggledy with no rhyme or reason.

The awesome team we were promised for this year can show up any time now.

Matthews looked good even if the stat sheet looks bad last night. Only one of the big 4 who gave a shit. Only player who looked dangerous on the horrible powerplay.

OEL again, was the best defenceman on the team. Reilly was the worst, that 7.5m contract is going to end being very bad. Morgan is a declining player.

Marner looked like a 3rd liner again. Standing still, perimeter orientating passing, not going to the net, not shooting enough. Broken record on this. His defense was non-existent too.

Nylander was sloppy, no attention to detail, not battling for pucks. It was a shame, because Domi played hard and well and was buzzing.

Tavares is incredibly washed up. Definitely at the level Spezza was when he was here. He's too slow to hit his old spots. He's terrible in open ice, because his speed has fallen off even further. He's going to end with 40 pts or less.

It’s simple. The realized it hurts and is uncomfortable to play hard and heavy. So they quit that nonsense.

Maby healthy scratch and watch video and train do and donts a couple of 8 hour days.. thats an action taken way better then screaming. I dont care about the screaming at all, it is ok and warranted that he do so, actions just gets through so much better. But after a benching they shoud be put in a situation to succede. That is equally important.
