Jason York shared his thoughts on the PK at the end of the game. He brought up a good point, the PK kind of struggled throughout the game but they looked really impressive in a big moment at the end of regulation. Hopefully they can carry that performance into their next few games and string together some wins.

Dunno if it was on the broadcast but they welcomed DJ back on the jumbotron and he got a mix of cheers and boos but mostly boos. 1 guy stood up in our section and clapped and I'm pretty sure it was swiftwin.

In fairness I think Forsberg only really let in one bad goal (the 3rd one). It looks like the 2nd one hit off Trevor Lewis.

I’d still go back to him on Thursday if our only two options are him and Sogaard. Still, first choice would be to go with Merilainen.

I would imagine this was probably the greatest live regular season game in the last decade not counting the Hamburger run when it got serious, particularly the comeback against Pittsburgh.

I took some kids to what was their first game, and I don't know how I'm going to get explain to them that it's usually 3-1.

He had that hustle and was great defensively.

On another note, MacEwen probably deserved the 1st star. Fought Jeannot in defense of Zub (whom in the past no one has really had his back) and destroyed him, got the 2nd goal to give the Sens some life, and the 5-5 tying goal late when things were starting to look bleak. He was mucking it up all game long and delivered some great hits. Also, he was great on the cycle and maintained some good offensive zone pressure.

Ah, so that's what happened. I only saw the third period and when I watched the highlights back to see the rest, they showed the MacEwen-Jeannot fight, which I was shocked at, as the NHL usually erases any and all violence or controversy from the highlights, but of course not the injury-causing hit that led to it

There are still some serious issues that need to be ironed out and relearned the right way....but there is some good material to work with.

At this point, it's mostly on who we have in the organization right now. We have some talent, some brawn, some youth....it's up to those guys to finally put it together. Will it happen and how far will they go.....I have no idea.

Chabot had very few options, he could have placed the puck behind the net or try to provoke a rebound like he did but nobody drove the net (except Norris who was quite slow at getting there) so it was in vain. No issue though as the lowest forward has to cover for him. Gregor went for a hit, Norris was late on the play so it created a 2 on 2, which shouldn't have really been a problem. All that said, Clarke had to run into the goalie to make it a dangerous play. If he didn't, most likely a routine play where nothing happens.

Look at 0:02 seconds how the other Sens players were positioned and there is still some blaming Chabot here lol

that is horrific shot selection from chabot. You simply cannot give the puck away when you’re the d man. You’re in the corner and your forwards are joining in. Chabot put everyone in a bad spot

Cant expect to win many games where you need to spot your tender 8 goals.

Staios needs to get a capable backup sooner rather than later. I have no faith in either Forsberg or Soogard and neither do the players when you watch them play.

Apparently Sogaard made 13 saves. I cannot remember that. The one in OT. There were like 3 wristers from the blue line. And one long dump in that was on net

I think the problem with him was that he relies on his size to cover the net without using much mobility but he tends to make himself look so small. He was very stationary out there.

Get espn+
I'm international and I can tell you, it is by far the best sports streaming available. Never miss,a game, sometimes with broadcast choice (I prefer tge non-sens broadcast). You'll find ice hockey right after table tennis. It's good for pretty much any live sporting broadcast.
You'll need a VPN to use it in Canada but it's still cheaper than Canadian streaming options. The service is also 100x better.

100% this. To me, Meriläinen is our best goaltending prospect by a mile. You watch - he will outplay Sogaard this year in Belleville and will end up being Belleville's starter down the stretch so long as Bowness allows that to happen. For some reason, management is heavily invested in Sogaard as the goalie of the future, and near as I can tell the only reason for that is that he is big. If that is the sole criterion, then go recruit an NCAA offensive tackle for God's sake...

We lose this game 100% last year , so for me that's big improvement guys always kept trying even if goaltending gave them no hope. If it was last year they probably forfeit at start of 2nd. Says a lot about what's going in our players heads .I think they understand now no matter the score you play your game till games end. I think the game in MTL helped a lot for this one and this one will help a lot vs NJ guys will play them with confidence like they should.

I think you're way overanalyzing this. The goaltending was a disaster for both teams, nothing more, nothing less.
