If all these rumors of a huge LA deal are true I hope all the insiders are wrong and its Matthews and not PLD. Dubois is good though depending on what must be given up.

I expect Blake to be moving a bunch of players mainly because they want bigger roles. He's already traded 4 RD-men so that takes care of that Logjam. Goaltending is up in the Air but at least the GM got rid of that horendous contract of Petersen's without giving up too much? Now Blake has to move some forwards and I'd move Moore cause he's not a top 6 player and neither is Yafallo so that's 2 guys and 8.25 Million!Throw in a couple of youngsters like Kupari,Fagemo or JAD and Lizotte and Grundstrom the deals done for PLD... And if Hellebuyck is thrown into the deal then LA has to put more Value(Bjornfot,Madden,Spence,Lias...) out there to get a bonafide numero Uno netminder that can win LA a Stanley Cup or two more! The Jets trade Logan Stanley cause he wants out and LA has what it needs...A numero Uno netminder(has to be locked up long term) a Centre that becomes the heir apparent to Kopi-Star and a hulking D-man for the 3rd pairing. Now all LA's Blake has to do is find the Cap space for 21 Million dollars...Kopi's contract comes off in 2024 which is just in time for Hellebuyck "new deal"! The kicker is that the Jets probably start the conversation for the 3 Jets with Vilardi and Byfield and go from there...Does Blake bit or refuse? Blake is in a tough spot with the shitty contracts of Moore and Yafallo so he has to give up something substantial to get rid of the Cap Space...Stay tuned it could get even more interesting in LA

Iafallo + Vilardi for PLD leaves the roster and cap situation looking something like this:

pld2.jpg

1.5M in cap space and still need to address goalie, LHD and a girtty bottom 6 forward.

Nevermind the fact that going from Iafallo and Vilardi to PLD is probably an overall downgrade for the roster.

I just don't see how it works.

I like the direction the roster is going but that might change if we trade Vilardi for PLD or something.

Whenever you hear someone say there have been no talk between the two parties, you know it's over....
Yep. Doesn’t look promising. What are we as fans missing?

A couple of years ago before he was set down there was some talk that Vilardi didn’t think he needed to practice face offs.

Then there was the back issues.

Maybe there is reasons we don’t know that the front office sees as red flags is signing Vilardi long run. Who knows.

Has anyone heard any rumors on what type of contract Gabe is asking for?

I love the skill he possesses and his size and love that he is a right hand shot. I really don’t want him traded.

I on the other hand like PLD. I think there is still some upside there. Big, chippy, has some offensive talent. Just don’t think I would like what it will cost to sign him. The rumors of 9 mil a year scare the crap out of me.

If Winnipeg is involved Helle is the guy I would want. Unfortunately rumors are he will also want 9 sheets per year. I would possibly do it on a 3 to 5 year deal as he alone could steal a series but one would have to hope the cap really starts to rise.

Let’s keep it simple. Iafallo for Dillon.

There's really no way around it. If you want to build a roster that can contend, Doughty has to go on LTIR.

Or...Doughty go full Erik Karlsson and triple his points and play level back to 2012.

Q: How did Erik Karlsson (we all have known for years) go full Erik Karlsson? 101 pts?
On the Sharks, no less.

Move Arvidsson.

Fagemo is out of waiver exemption next year I believe. He'll be on the team.

Goalie, get a cheap backup from last year that's looking for a bigger role.

3LD, Moverare, Björnfot or play something like Gavrikov, Clarke
Spence Roy

King's are in a cap bind. They have to have a hole to start the season. Picking up PLD moves that hole to wing. A hole on wing is easier to cover with young players & cheaper to fill at the deadline.

Edit: everyone says play the kids. Get Kaliyev, Fagemo, Spence & Clarke in the lineup & see what happens.

I will be extremely upset if we lose Vilardi. I think with the moves we have made so far we really just need to add some size/grit and a goalie. There's not much missing.

There's not a chance in hell losing Arvidsson, Iaffalo and Vilardi for PLD makes us a better team.

Yeah someone remind me why we're chasing a top six forward. Kevin Fiala was glued to the 3rd line most of the season and Kaliyev the 4th/scratched.

The way I could see it working is if (a) Byfield gets moved back to center and they don't trust Arty/Fagemo/etc at 1LW, (b) that forward is a center like PLD and Danault becomes 3C, or (c) there is a plan to move multiple wingers among Arvidsson, Iafallo, Moore, and Vilardi. Not that I'd move Vilardi

dont mind if kings trade for pld or helle as long as clarke is not moved.
Thankfully I'd have to think that, if there was ever a chance that Clarke was getting moved (which tbh I doubt), it went away with today's trade

I'm not even a believer in elite goalies anymore. It seems like the goaltenders of now are wayyyyy too inconsistent compared to the early 2000's/2010's.

Honestly I feel like a tandem of say Copley - Varlamov/Korpisalo/Jarry/Raanta/Anderson would be just fine.

Wouldn't wanna give up a ton of assets for a Helle/Ullmark/Hart only to get a 2023 Jonathan Quick type of season out of them.

It's about setting the team up to compete in the playoffs with holes that are easy to fill at the deadline. Getting a wing or physical 6-7D is easier than a top6 center at the deadline.

Arvidsson, don't think he's re-signed.

Iafallo is likeable, but only broke 40 points once.

Vilardi finally showed something after the Fiala trade. He's very unlikely to play center in LA. What's his ceiling? 70 points good defensive wing that isn't a fast skater? Toffoli? Without a cap, keep him.

Play the kids. Make adjustments.

Just a friendly reminder that we spend 8.2M of our cap on two 3rd line defensive LW'ers.

80
Their point production is in line with their contracts and they are defensivly responsible. Ones a big part of one of the best lines going around, if these guys are our problems then we are doing alright. In dollar terms we spent 8.2 million on 90 points, nothing wrong with that.

I'll also be the one to mention that the two guys this board bitched about and wanted fired into the sun both won cups the last 2 years straight in MacD and Amadio
