I’d have taken a chance on Blackwood for a 6th. No clue what they’re thinking for a goalie…
Maybe the Jets preferred Vilardi to QB.So because they want to compete for the cup right now, they're moving out Vilardi, a drafted center who was moved to wing and then proved himself, one of our best players all year and who contributes a lot to the team right now, but keeping Byfield, another drafted center moved to wing who has yet to prove himself and doesn't contribute as much to the team and thus is not helping the win the cup now idea. Can anyone explain this?
$4.5m cap space with 11F/4D/1G.
Add JAD, Clarke, Spence, 13th F(Turcotte/Fagemo?), 7th D (Bjornfot/Moverare), 2nd G at a bare minimum.
All those guys except the goalie are around $750~800K.
But unless they can sign a goalie for the league minimum, they'll need to make another move for cap space.
Moore/Arvidsson still might have to go.
He is a better player than what we saw last year, but even I couldn't defend that after what we saw.Mayor saying they're trying to get something done with MacEwen. As if this day couldn't get worse.
I guess only other way would be to only carry 1 extra skater (12F, 7D, 2G) during the season and hope to sign a goalie for under $1m.Yeah I can't imagine how they add a goalie, re-sign a few RFAs, and fill out the rest of this roster without trading yet another player away (Probably Arvidsson) for more cap space.
So I'm just going to go ahead and prep myself for that now.
So without Arvidsson, you end up with something like this:
Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - PLD - Grundstrom
Moore - Danault - Kaliyev
Turcotte - Lizotte - Fagemo / UFA??? / MacEwen
Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Clarke
Spence/Bjornfot - Roy
????? Maybe Varlamov??
Copley
Damn..... I mean that lineup is certainly solid and has potential but it's still pretty soft and I don't love the idea of having Grundstrom in our top 6 (I just did that because I think there's no way in hell TMac actually ices a line of Fiala/PLD/Kaliyev - Guy would have an aneurysm)
Where did he say this?Mayor saying they're trying to get something done with MacEwen. As if this day couldn't get worse.
All I've seen is him saying plans would be finalized in the next few days (in tweet about not qualifying Dudas/Villalta)Where did he say this?
Huge Lucic fan going back to his Boston days but he couldn't handle the puck 7 years ago when he was with the Kings. He's horrendous now.Kings don't have much money but here are some players I go after...
F: Comtois, Lucic, Reaves, Kassian, Ritchie
D: Beaulieu, Seeler (via trade), Ian Cole
Goalies: Anderson, Raanta, Varlamov, Brossoit
Unless I’m loosing it I think I saw it on my Facebook feed earlier.Where did he say this?

There is getting in your face and bouncing off players and always ending up in your ass which is completely ineffective. Here’s the thing about Iafallo… There wasn’t one other player besides Iafallo and Lizzotte that were getting in the face of the Oilers. Moore is a p***y and he doesn’t do jack shit for his teammates. That’s a big loss that he’s not going to fill.
When discussing Lizotte going into the playoffs, I made the "he's too small" argument and that I would take a little less scoring for someone with some size in that position. Didn't have a player in mind. There is getting in your face and bouncing off players and always ending up in your ass which is completely ineffective.
Give me Lizotte’s motor, compete and smarts in a 6ft2 frame and then we are talking.
Love Lizotte’s attitude and it looks like he is always moving but what is he really accomplishing?
Would rather use the fourth line spot for a big play disrupting, face of specialist that gets 7 to 8 minutes a game and compound the shit out of the other team if needed. Our other three centers appear to have the other 55 minutes of the game sewn up.
