I think it would be wise to sit the sharp end of the roster, and give some prime minutes to the youth that will eventually need to take over, but it is Todd.

Incoming 30min for drew, 25 for Kopi, and the 4th line will somehow play 5.

The posts on HF are normally rock solid with insider information. Its hard to believe we were mislead on here by someone with no real knowledge of the actual situation.

I would make the trade each and every time even if Faber was from LA and a Kings fan all his life and wanted to play for the Kings Still, it is nice to hear that things were progressing as they normally should, it was just a normal hockey deal, and in the end things worked out for Faber because he is now on his childhood dream team, had his full Minnesota experience, and is close to family.

This is a good call and correct...over the long haul and pretty good indicator.

If you were to ask the diehard Kings fan who was the best dman and the worst in terms of defensive play- most would probably say Mikey A/Roy/Doughty as the best...

If you were to ask who was the worst...Most would probably say Durzi or Walker.

The +/- verifies the smell test of competency.

It’s awesome stat if you are asking if it’s hot, warm, cool, or freezing out. Not great for asking how many degrees it is.

It might be an exaggeration, but I really feel like when Vilardi is on his game, he's about as impactful as any winger in hockey.

If the Kings are going to have a chance against Edmonton, they really need both him and Byfield on their games.

Both players have outsized impacts on their lines.

For what it's worth (nothing)

The amount of times I have heard from people that "should" know what they were talking about only to have it turn out to be completely wrong is considerable.

In fact on MONDAY I heard from a far more specific and well placed source (outside the org) about something that was almost instantly contradicted by what I saw with my own two eyes.

Not to say that Brian MJr1985 is wrong... I have no idea... but as we JUST SAW with the Chyhrun/Faber he said they said storylines..... unconfirmed rumors from dubious sources are just that.

I laid out somewhere on this board the timeline of how that narrative even started but at some point it took on a life of it's own and you had independent hockey media with no particular connections or sources repeating with unbelievable confidence that the Chychrun deal was imminent. Whipping fans up and building expectation for something that was, it seems, never going to actually happen.

No apologies. No acknowledgment that they were essentially making things up. No dip in confidence moving forward with similar comments or predictions.

Drives me nuts. I've said too much.

It's like when the Brown rumor started. Someone passed along something to McKenzie as fact and it was everywhere the next day. Turns out it was a couple of scouts playing the "what if" game and someone else heard it and passed it along as truth.

And thank god that Chychrun rumour wasn't true. OTT got 12 games out of him and he got hurt..again... and was out for the season.

One of my biggest issues with the way hockey media operates is that the big hitters or those that like to present as big hitters are essentially just gossip columnists but they are talked about as if they are pulitzer prize winning journalists who speak truth to power and act as the Fourth Estate.

I refer once again to Bob McKenzie reporting that Ryan Smyth had demanded a trade.
Smyth and his reps denied it. Lombardi denied it.

I have no question that it happened... but SOMEONE benefited from McKenzie "reporting" that it happened and he was happy to act as an advocate for the business interest of whichever side asked him to report it.

I'll include trade rumors there was well. Sure they almost never come true, but it gives us something to talk about other than watching Axl and Sol argue about who is the better knitter
