Wew lad what were the habs thinking??
They dont think much. That's the issue. Domi goes on a hotstreak, tatar is a pleasant surprise...and some are ready to think bergevin finally got a brain. Nope. Still a moron. This is how to destroy an asset: 101. Some apologists for marc bargainbin will try to fool you by ripping the kid. The fact he is like all hab draft picks...hes been handled and developed poorly. He still has a ton of skill and any kinks he has can be solved with some patience and good coaching...two things the habs lack and have lacked for a long time when it comes to player development. I think they may have addressed the coaching part this off season...a little too late tho. Turned a promising first rounder into worthless waiver fodder

That was simply so that Blake could give the illusion that he's not desperate ;).

"We're claiming him, right?"

"No, we don't want to look too desperate. We'll claim the next two guys after him, instead."

Or it was the extra year on his contract....who knows why

Take off your rosy glasses, man. Scherbak is a bust. He has been injured many times in the last three years and never showed a heartbeat and passion to play.

I'm not sure if it was a beauty, since it may've deflected off of Nate Schmidt, but it's a goal nonetheless and his speed helped him to get in the position to get it off. Amusingly, he was on the ice for a goal against on his first shift and scored on his second shift.

Was it really his first 2 shifts? Because a first shift at the 4min mark and a 2nd one at the 8 min mark without penalties is kind of late in a game...

Yeah, I'm not positive, but his ice time up to and including the goal was 1:50, which suggests two shifts. Both shifts were cut short by goals, though, so it's quite possible that there was a shift in between that I missed. You could be right. The back-to-back shift narrative is more fun, though ;).

Fun if you like fake news ;) , anyway good for him. I don't see who we could have scratched/played on 4th line since I didn't want to see him on a 4th either. I would probably have kept him as a 13th foward and wait for a top9 injury.

did you really said "speed" ? I'm watching the game, it wasn't fast at all... he just had way too much space in the neutral zone..

Lose a former first round pick for nothing. Marc Bergevin typical.
Doesn't matter if Scherbak even only becomes a 15 goal scorer. That fact that dumb xenophobe Marc decided to not cut him loose early if he didn't like him is really pathetic. He had value before thanks to his skill alone.

Habs have de-Russified the team after Clod had arrived. Pretty pathetic that Willie Desjardins is more open than the Montreal brasd.

he was a bust on the habs and worthless trade fodder but now as a waiver wire pickup who scores in his first game he's a steal. i don't need my winter gloves, i'm warm from all the hot takes. never change HF. NEVER CHANGE
