Can't help but shake the feeling this wasn't the right move for the Avs. I see Mack and Jones as just about equals overall and the Avs NEED defenseman. Badly. But MacKinnon is going to be a HELL of a player.
 
That frees up the Avs to possibly trade a redundant forward like Stastny, which would assuredly net them a quality defenseman.

We are asking about what it would take to get Krieder out of NY.

If you're going forward you have to take Drouin. You can't score and Barkov'a high end upside is questioned.

Tampa has to take Jones. They need defense bad.
 
It's Florida... :P They needed a center so much that they drafted on need. Some GM's are tap dancing right now.

Because you haven't watched him. Kid can ****ing PLAY. And in all 3 zones. Look at recent Cup winning teams. All had number 1, two way centers. Barkov is that and is great in all 3 zones. Jones has the hype but there was a big four that could all go number 1 overall. Sasha was in that group.
 
No to Krieder now.

Kings are taking a ton of calls.

DL talkin with Feaster.

Lots of busy work going around.

We may be standing pat but it is too hard to tell.

Well he is a center:laugh:. Barkov has lower high end potential than Drouin, and I feel like that's where you go in a draft
 
Honestly I think a lot of these "experts" are ****ing idiots. Seth Jones has the name and appeal but these top four are all about equals. Him falling to four isn't a travesty. I'd say falling to 5 would be....but he won't. Tampa could use him but Drouin was not a bad pick.
 
In the long run Jones will be happy not to be stuck in Florida. I know he wanted Colorado but Nashville is a much better consolation than Florida.
